Celebrated 22 years together yesterday. We didn’t make plans and I’ve gotta say, it was our best anniversary yet. We reminisced, we took a walk, we watched episodes of our favorite show from the earliest days of our relationship (“Nigella Bites”). Late in the evening, before we each gave the other permission to do the thing we wanted to do (for me watercolor; for him play video games), we talked about the dreams we held for next 22 years (if we should be blessed enough) and it was kinda wild and amazing to imagine the possibilities. I love you Seth Gabel — thanks for going on that date 22 years ago. I still own the sweater I wore that night because I JUST KNEW.

The moment we’ve been waiting for is FINALLY here: It’s the Season 3 premiere of #TheMandalorian at the El Capitan Theatre!!
… and I have Covid 🫠😭
It breaks my heart that I won’t be able to celebrate with everyone tonight. I’m so grateful to have directed an episode this season and can’t express enough how much I love working on this show.
The Mando family, cast, and crew is the best of the best. Not only because of their skill and talent (which is at the highest level) but because of the HEART they pour into every moment. It is a privilege and an honor to direct in that environment, alongside such champions.
Then on top of that, we have the one and only @rickfamuyiwa executive producing. I look up to Rick for many reasons — one of which is that he’s at least 6’4” but mostly because his taste is *exquisite* and he’s the kind of collaborator that I can trust completely. I’m so excited for the world to see this next chapter in the Mando-verse and Rick’s thoughtful and action-packed touch continues to bring everything to the next level.
And of course, there’s @jonfavreau and @dave.filoni, my mentors and friends. Fellas, thank you for including me in this adventure. Nothing in my career brings me more joy than being with the Mando family.
I started this journey five years ago and I distinctly remember Jon talking about Baby Yoda (he didn’t have a name yet) and how he hoped that Baby would feel like a “love bomb” on the world. So forgive the expression but I hope YOU all get nuked with love tonight. You’ve worked so hard and you’ve earned it. And to the audience and fans who have been so incredibly supportive since day one, I hope YOU TOO get love nuked.
Okay, the Covid fever hallucination has officially set in, but know that I’m celebrating you all from afar because, above all else: THIS IS THE WAY

What started as small doodles has now become my first official hobby 🖌️ Age 42 and I’m starting something new:) I’m very much so a beginner, exploring all that watercolor has to teach me (which is A LOT!). More than I can grasp in a lifetime, I’m sure, but I’m gonna try!
Trying and sharing something new is both exciting and nerve-racking. But it’s the good kind of nervous. And I show this part of me so that you can watch as I grow and stumble and have a lot of fun in the process. I’ve also been recording some of my thoughts while doodling — mostly musings around creative lifestyles — and my hope is that by sharing these in-between moments of a life as an actor/director, you are encouraged in your own creative journeys wherever you may be!

With all the support that I’ve received from my online family and the watercolor creatives here, I’ve been musing on how important community is in all that we do. Because being in community with others is not only about encouraging them but also challenging and really showing up for them.
There’s that saying of “the circle rises together” and I think it’s so true. If we focus on lifting each other up, instead of operating in isolation, the growth and the wins are shared – tenfold. And I guess that’s what community is to me: people in my life who I want to grow with and who inspire me to grow.

Each season feels a little like Christmas — I’m all, “Who do I get to work with now Jon?! And what planet are we going to this time?!” It’s all a joy and a privilege. As a director, I get to witness firsthand how much everyone pours their ALL into this series. It comes from a place of LOVE and a continued celebration of that wonderful story we adore called #StarWars. Thank you to the cast and crew. Thank you to @jonfavreau, @dave.filoni, and @rickfamuyiwa for entrusting me with an episode this season and supporting the entire team of directors — you make coming to work such a dream. ![Bryce Dallas Howard Instagram - The moment we’ve been waiting for is FINALLY here: It’s the Season 3 premiere of #TheMandalorian at the El Capitan Theatre!! ... and I have Covid 🫠😭 It breaks my heart that I won’t be able to celebrate with everyone tonight. I’m so grateful to have directed an episode this season and can’t express enough how much I love working on this show. The Mando family, cast, and crew is the best of the best. Not only because of their skill and talent (which is at the highest level) but because of the HEART they pour into every moment. It is a privilege and an honor to direct in that environment, alongside such champions. Then on top of that, we have the one and only @rickfamuyiwa executive producing. I look up to Rick for many reasons -- one of which is that he’s at least 6’4” but mostly because his taste is *exquisite* and he’s the kind of collaborator that I can trust completely. I’m so excited for the world to see this next chapter in the Mando-verse and Rick’s thoughtful and action-packed touch continues to bring everything to the next level. And of course, there’s @jonfavreau and @dave.filoni, my mentors and friends. Fellas, thank you for including me in this adventure. Nothing in my career brings me more joy than being with the Mando family. I started this journey five years ago and I distinctly remember Jon talking about Baby Yoda (he didn’t have a name yet) and how he hoped that Baby would feel like a “love bomb” on the world. So forgive the expression but I hope YOU all get nuked with love tonight. You’ve worked so hard and you’ve earned it. And to the audience and fans who have been so incredibly supportive since day one, I hope YOU TOO get love nuked. ![Bryce Dallas Howard Instagram - What started as small doodles has now become my first official hobby 🖌️ Age 42 and I’m starting something new:) I’m very much so a beginner, exploring all that watercolor has to teach me (which is A LOT!). More than I can grasp in a lifetime, I’m sure, but I’m gonna try! Trying and sharing something new is both exciting and nerve-racking. But it’s the good kind of nervous. And I show this part of me so that you can watch as I grow and stumble and have a lot of fun in the process. I’ve also been recording some of my thoughts while doodling — mostly musings around creative lifestyles — and my hope is that by sharing these in-between moments of a life as an actor/director, you are encouraged in your own creative journeys wherever you may be! ![Bryce Dallas Howard Instagram - With all the support that I’ve received from my online family and the watercolor creatives here, I’ve been musing on how important community is in all that we do. Because being in community with others is not only about encouraging them but also challenging and really showing up for them. There’s that saying of “the circle rises together” and I think it’s so true. If we focus on lifting each other up, instead of operating in isolation, the growth and the wins are shared – tenfold. And I guess that’s what community is to me: people in my life who I want to grow with and who inspire me to grow.
