This is a friendly reminder for the holiday season: FOOD IS PLEASURE. FOOD IS FUEL. Food is medicine. … BUT don’t forget: JOY is also a nutrient!❤️ Nutrition is a secondary source of energy. Primary foods – nonfood sources of nourishment – are what really fuel us. Spending time with loved ones is nutrition for your soul. So: Fill your cup with quality time with your family and friends and listen to your body. Stay close to yourself, You are in the driver’s seat of your health – you have the tools to feel good in your body. @daniellarabbani thank you so much for having me on this podcast – I hope you all enjoy listening to it. Thanks for being here with me! • Hier ist deine freundliche Erinnerung für die Weihnachtszeit: ESSEN IST GENUSS NAHRUNG IST KRAFTSTOFF. … 👏🏻 CHILLS 👏🏻 “ I want to show them what a proud Jewish woman looks and feels like. What she dresses like!” My fellow Israeli-American Jewish Queen @daniellarabbani throwing down seriously powerful words on her way to perform at a Jewish Day School wearing non other than Ariel Tidhar earrings 🤩✨❤️ The reason why we light our Hanukkah candles on display in a window is to publicize the miracle. When we adorn ourselves with motifs that display Jewish pride it’s not only powerful within ourselves but you truly never know who might see you standing proud in your visible Jewishness and feel excited or overcome with Jewish pride. I literally make Jewish Jewelry for a living! And when I see people out in public wearing Jewish Stars I cannot tell you how happy it make me, how in a single passing moments you can feel so at home in your Jewishness in a public setting. May your open display of Jewishness inspire others and may you always be inspired to show up Jewish and proud 💙 Happy Happy Happy Hanukkah 🕎💙🔥✨ I hope your Hanukkah is filled with so much light! 🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎🕎 #jewishlife #jewishandproud #wearyourstar #chicago #skokie #la #telaviv #jlem #nyc #brooklyn # #girl #arieltidhar #tidhar #jewelrydesigner #smallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #accessories #jewelry #jewishlife #hanukkah #winter #jewish #judaica
🤦♀️ 😬 Did you f*ck up today?! It happens. I want to teach you something I learned in Hebrew School. If you have a string and that string is severed and now you have two strings cut in half. Now you have two ends. To repair the string, you tie the ends together. Notice – the ends are much closer than they were before. Relationships are the same way. We’re going to f*ck up! Strings are going to be severed. Relationships rupture. But when they rupture, there is room for repair. What that brings is an opportunity to teach the other person – adult or child – that you’re sorry and there’s room to do better and grow closer. 😬 🤦♀️
🤰✨ Let’s stop judging other women for the choices they make doing the most NATURAL thing in the word – birthing a child. There is so much judgement these days around what women should and shouldn’t do with their bodies. Childbirth is a FREAKING miracle – vaginal, C-section, at home, in hospital – it’s all amazing. Let’s make sure to celebrate that instead of judging it. ✨🤰

🗽🇺🇦 I spent the day in Coney Island, Brooklyn, with UJA and their partner Shorefront Y! We assembled 200 packages filled with essential resources for Ukrainian refugee children and then we hosted an outrageously fun carnival for Ukrainian families to welcome them to our community. This is the least we can do for families that have been forced to leave everything and everyone they know and now must adapt to a new culture and different world. But today, we’re playing one part in something much bigger. All across New York, UJA has convened thousands of volunteers to participate in over 50 service projects in honor of MLK Day. UJA serves New Yorkers of all backgrounds and Jews everywhere, and responds to crises around the world, like the war in Ukraine. And since the war began just under a year ago, UJA’s has allocated $22 million in emergency funding to meet ever-evolving needs. I hope you’ll take some time to learn more about this incredible organization and visit their website at ujafedny.org or their Instagram page @ujafedny. It was a life changing day and I’m so proud to have reached “official mensch” status by simply showing up and being kind. So easy. And so meaningful for all around. 🇺🇦🗽 . . . #slavaukraini #ujafedny #mlkday #mlkdayofservice #ukrainewar #ukraine #service #doinggoodfeelsgood #coneyisland #welcometobrooklyn
🫶🏽🫶🏽Karen Cinnamon of @yourjewishlife became a soul sister to me on the streets of Tel Aviv where we danced with strangers, singing at the top of our lungs. She told me of her mother who had recently passed away. Her mother impacted her life so greatly that Karen dedicates her work to sharing the free spirited joy, the pride in peoplehood and the can-do attitude of her beautiful role model. In this episode we talk about the impact a mother can make. Even after she’s gone. Karen gives us a good dose of perspective when it comes to mothering- from the POV of the mothered. 🧿🪬Margaritkelekh is a song about a girl who goes into the forest to pick daisy. And she ends up being the flower who’s picked. It was a favorite of the late great Chana Mlotek z”l who played a key role in crafting the historical memory of Yiddish songs in our time. @yivoinstitute will be celebrating her life and work this Thursday night. I’ll have the pleasure of singing one of Chana’s own songs in an evening filled with beautiful artists. I hope you can join. Link in stories. 🪬🧿 . . . 👏🏼👏🏼Spoke to the brilliant @kathysearle today and it reminded me of the time we all got together to be bossed around by @jimconroy70 at my uncle’s office in midtown on the weekend. 👏🏼👏🏼
💕👐🏼Alright friends! Next time you ask your niece for a kiss and she’s feeling shy about it… respect her boundary. Offer alternatives and if it’s still a no- good on her. Let’s not wait until the next gen is in their teens to learn body autonomy. 🧬🔮*Disclaimer: The term Reparenting may have nothing to do with one’s actual parents. AND there are lots of young Jewish girls who do read from the Torah and love it or hate it or are indifferent to the experience.* I never even thought of it, truly ever, until I heard @womenofthewall speak at a conference with @telavivinstitute. When Leslie, the founder, gave her presentation about advocating for women to pray freely at the Western Wall, I was OVERCOME with feeling. A longing came over me- to connect to the divine, the one of my ancestors, in a sacred way: By way of a woman’s voice halooing to God in her native tongue. From a book that’s been kept word perfect for thousands of years. I’m a storyteller and a singer, I thought. And I believe deeply in the power of the divine feminine. That it is the women who will usher us into a world of peace if we let them. Just look at @everytown- an organization devoted to gun safety in the US started by mothers! So if I believe that then I must be that. And this was *my* first (or one millionth) step. I wept nearly every session with @myhotrabbi who taught me to sing the ancient tune of the Jews. I tell the rest of the story on this week’s episode of The Mom Curious Podcast but suffice it to say: it was no big deal and a monumental moment all at once. And I’m so proud of 12 year old me who piped up to say HEY! I STILL MATTER! Yes all these years later! And yes she sure does. I hope this inspires you to do a thing your younger self would be proud of. Let me know in the comments what that might be, wouldja? 🔮🧬 . . PS- who wants to see photos of my ACTUAL bat mitzvah and a literal disco/ arcade in Manhattan. My mom is a party planner and let me just tell you she didn’t miss a BEAT 💃🏻 #reparenting #adultbatmitzvah #batmitzvah #torahstudy #jewishandproud #divinefeminine #mothersofinstagram
🦾🤠As an actor, my bread and butter has always been voiceovers. I’m Madame Nazar on Red Dead Redemption, the voice of The Ellis Island Immigration Museum and have been the voice of commercial brands like Colgate Optic White for a decade now. It’s weird that I don’t share more about this part of my life given I’m in my studio recording most days. My son listens to one of the podcasts I’m in every night. It makes him so so so happy. A new character of mine appeared this week, Serach. I thought I’d share and let you know that Beyond the Bookcase is a really fantastic listen for kids. And a sweet way for me to share this part of my work. 🤠🦾 . . . #voiceactor #voiceovertalent #podcaster #actormom #pjlibrary #beyondthebookcase #actorlife #voiceoverwork
💆🏻♀️🧖🏻♀️DON’T FORGET YOURSELF! I don’t mean to yell atchu but, babe, in the whirlwind of the holidays- serving and buying gifts and loving on everybody else: PLEASE DON’T FORGET THAT YOU’RE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE. (Read that twice 😆). I’m teaming up with @beautypie to offer a 50% discount off their insanely high quality makeup, skin and hair care products. My cousin sent me a box of their skincare products as a gift this summer and my skin and self confidence have benefitted enormously. Use the Black Friday code BF50 and keep an eye out for a live with their founder Marcia right here THIS MONDAY. She’s a wealth of knowledge and I’m stoked to share her message of affordable and luxe self care. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving! I’m SO thankful for you friends. I hope you take good care of you and enjoy this offer. Love, Daniella 🧖🏻♀️💆🏻♀️ . . . #beautypie #skincare #momhack #beautyhack #treatyoself #selfcare
🧠🫀What a plot twist! When voiceover auditions and bookings started going fully remote, when theatrical appointments where I’d normally see incredible friends landed in my kids’ playroom instead of the casting director’s office, when the pandemic had me performing concerts in my studio over zoom… when friends family moved out of the city, when my kids went from one to two- babies to toddlers to school aged, when I launched a podcast about motherhood: my life changed. The pandemic tossed me about no matter how hard I clung to a former self. And there the mommies were. A new community. One that’s embraced me. One that I am thankful for. Especially Neha of @motheruntitled who saw me, first baby strapped to my chest en route to plug away at office hours. Between worlds. I wrote for her site during the early days of parenthood and she became my first podcast guest on Mom Curious. Thank you. And thanks for the snaps @nadialeonphotography 👏🏼 the deliciousness @_mamannyc_. 🫀🧠 . . . #momlife #momsnightout #nymom #actormom #actress #brooklynmom #communityfirst #momfriends

🫧🫠Investigating and celebrating women through storytelling is the honor of my life. Through the Mom Curious Podcast I’ve been able to interview nearly 60 people who so beautifully shed light on many aspects of the human experience. This tender thing we call life. This passion filled endeavor. Full of its griefs and grandeur. I couldn’t help but reflect on my own motherhood journey throughout and of course the way I was mothered. Not only by my mom but by a world that’s not always set up for birthing people and the littles we birth. I am so proud of all aspects of this work- yes the podcast but also each and every guest, my own self and in reflection: my mother. My most vulnerable reflections on the Mom Curious Podcast. A Year in Review. Out now wherever you get your podcasts. 🫠🫧 . . . #podcastersofinstagram #podcastlife #momlife #motheroftwo #daniellarabbani #momcuriouspodcast #healingjourney #spiritualgrowth
