I am transitioning. 🏳️⚧️ This has really been a long time coming. I have finally accepted the fact that I need to physically transition in order to be myself. To be seen as, and live my life as a woman. I’ve tried for decades now to push it out of my mind because I was too scared of what it would mean. What if I’m not passable? What if I lose family? What if people make fun of me? I’m too tall. My shoulders are too broad. I’m too fat. My hairline, my nose, my jaw, etc etc etc… At this point in my life I’ve finally realized that I have to either truly accept myself, or just give up on life altogether. And I am choosing to live. I owe it to myself to at least try to become the person that I was always meant to be. Thank you to everyone who has supported me already on this journey and thank you @josephashepherd for giving me the space to discuss this. 🌳 I was ROOTING.. for US! 🌳 Joining the sisterhood of the traveling bark this week with @kahmorahall @therajahoharashow and @lemongivesyoulife ! The Dryad (Greek myth): a nymph that lives in the trees and takes the form of a beautiful woman. The original concept came from a real life mythical beauty, @vonkruz. I was extremely honoured to receive a concept sketch from Melony when I asked her if I could do a take on another fantasy concept she had sketched before. Thank you so much Melony!!! If you aren’t already following her, you need to be. This look was created with so much love by my friends Lucinda, Connor, and Sapphire. Lucinda sewed the base garment, and Connor created and painted all of the “wood” adornments out of foam clay. 🦆 it’s oh so quiet… shhh… 🦆 For my Ugliest Sin runway I wanted to do a take on one of the most iconic “ugly” dresses in recent history: the @bjork swan dress. Which I believe is absolutely beautiful, but beauty is always subjective. Of course I had to put a Canadian twist on it and make it a Canada goose! Complete with giant loonie earrings.
