We will be meeting up with Ceda to do a pop-up vet clinic in the park for people’s pets, feeding the strays and applying flea and tick medicine. This was such a treat! I attended the LA Premiere of “Leguizamo Does America” last night. It’s a new docuseries that follows @johnleguizamo across the country to “celebrate the history, culture, food, and other contributions of Latinx people shaping America”. I mean this speaks to my 🫶🏼 I absolutely loved the first episode! “Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.” I booked a guest star on a network show 4 weeks after moving to LA. It does not escape me what a wonderful opportunity that was especially being the new girl in town. I was humbled & my friends & family were over the moon for me but there was this one comment that struck me from another actor. “Don’t get used to it. That’s not how it works.” Then proceeded to tell me the scary facts about booking an acting job. Like only 3% of SAG actors work, I’m competing with other actresses with bigger credits, casting offices don’t know me, it was beginners luck… etc.. etc.. 🤦🏻♀️ I was so new & fresh that I wasn’t in my head or in my way of just living in the moment. When I auditioned I remember thinking “someone has to book this why not me?” That wasn’t ego it was healthy confidence. You have to believe in yourself because this business & sometimes other people who mean well will test you on the daily. @wufaw_official goes on a field trip! I took Koko to #wagonwheelschool to talk about the importance of being kind to animals. We visited 3 classes & most of the students said they had dogs & cats at home but this was their first time meeting a special needs dog. The kids were soo excited to meet Koko! It was really sweet. They had tons of questions about where she’s from (rescue from China) , how she gets around (Koko did her army crawl) & if they could pet her. 💞 They were very gentle & loving. It was heartwarming to see the kids with Koko. Thank you to one of my besties @mercedeslovesdogs & @ruth_at_wagon_wheel_school for inviting @wufaw_official to meet the kids.
