Then, the almost pocket size (if Mary Poppins had a pocket 😬 😂) Collins Nature Guides UNIVERSE from the Big Bang to Black Holes, is such a cool unassuming lil’ guide to how the universe works, fully illustrated, sectioning the planets, Earth, Moon, Sun, Galaxies 🌌 & so much more! The other book is 50 ideas you really need to know UNIVERSE & isn’t as colourful as the aforementioned - black & white - but I love it as much - I’m learning new words, plus I really like some of the quotes weaved in! Key concepts of cosmology & basic principles of astronomy 🔭 are addressed in detail. I don’t have enough space (pun intended) to review 3 books in one post, so this is more of a general #bookrecommendations with a sprinkle of inspiration (I hope!) for you to #readmorebooks about OUTER SPACE! 💥 trust me, you will not regret it…

Jennie Jacques Instagram – “A realistic guide to becoming an astronaut at a young age” & my mind is blown 📖 Firstly, it’s an easy read. A complex idea 💡 made simple = genius #einstein Secondly, I just bloody love it. A valiant guide emboldening our younger generation to fuel 🔥 their passion fearlessly & ultimately NOT to allow anyone to deter you from following a dream/setting a high goal/ambition. * What gives it an edge is the structure & layout; the book chaperones the reader & not in a patronising way. Plus, Carson isn’t afraid to address the harsh reality of the dangers involved in this career field. Nothing can really “prepare” for this category of “unknown” – but there are certain situations/scenarios & an education (mentally & physically) to help build a person – skydiving 🪂, piloting planes, scuba diving – all 3 of which Alyssa writes is her goal to achieve certification & license. * Carson highlights the “free stuff” online too – encouraging reading, listening & learning from those that have/do; her approach is on point & all encompassing. * Parts of the book reminded me of my own “approach” to becoming an actress at a young age. This book isn’t just for wannabe astronauts. Possibly a metaphoric blueprint for anyone pursuing a dream/goal; strategy, endurance, perseverance. The guidance, to some degree, is adaptable & useful for all go-getters!! So go get yaself a copy. 💫 Step by step #alyssacarson talks her reader through the journey which every young #spaceenthusiast will face, navigating the “what to do’s” to become an astronaut. Carson is the youngest astronaut in training & uses her own experiences to help other young people comprehend some of the how’s, if’s and but’s. The book is informative, balanced & I think it’s a real gem 💎 🪐 – utterly inspiring & I recommend it with zero hesitation! #bookrecommendations #space
Jennie Jacques Instagram – Yes, ever & anon, I take my beak 🐦 out of a book & watch some good old fashioned tv! But, find it hard to concentrate UNLESS it’s something like TASKMASTER (or @historyvikings I suppose I should say 😂) which 💯 holds my attention. I fcking love TM! When my health permits I’d like to go on the show to compete. Or perhaps @littlealexhorne can take on a challenge & set remote tasks from bed/home for me. I’d be the first virtual chronically sick contestant! Double entendre;I vouch to be outstandingly impressive 😂 Enough about M.E – what is TASKMASTER & why’s it so damn good? It’s basically famous people making other famous people do stupid things (competitively) & it’s shockingly captivating. I’m not blowing smoke 💨 up anyones woohoo here, the show is incredible & always makes us laugh out loud. Davies judges the performances (mainly comedy peeps) & scores points 😂 with the odd interjection from Horne – the mastermind behind the tasks. I like the point system breaking traditional rules; Davies scores what he wants/feels in the moment 😂 Although I jibed the celebs are doing “stupid” things, the tasks are actually often v.creative requiring lateral thinking/problem solving to complete. Fun to watch! Sometimes it’s a group task, singles or twos. I have the board game too #fangirl but haven’t played yet. Oh wow I just read “Alex Horne’s initial plan was to carry out the tasks in the comedians’ houses” 😂 pop over for a cuppa mate; not a comedienne but actress’ll do. Give this show a watch! 5/5 ⭐️ chucklesome, unique, clever! #tvshowrecommendation
