Magic photographs & paired with mind blowing facts about outer space 🪐 & astrophysics (& the rest!) I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s a huge beautiful hardback too. Then, the almost pocket size (if Mary Poppins had a pocket 😬 😂) Collins Nature Guides UNIVERSE from the Big Bang to Black Holes, is such a cool unassuming lil’ guide to how the universe works, fully illustrated, sectioning the planets, Earth, Moon, Sun, Galaxies 🌌 & so much more! The other book is 50 ideas you really need to know UNIVERSE & isn’t as colourful as the aforementioned - black & white - but I love it as much - I’m learning new words, plus I really like some of the quotes weaved in! Key concepts of cosmology & basic principles of astronomy 🔭 are addressed in detail. I don’t have enough space (pun intended) to review 3 books in one post, so this is more of a general #bookrecommendations with a sprinkle of inspiration (I hope!) for you to #readmorebooks about OUTER SPACE! 💥 trust me, you will not regret it…

Jennie Jacques Instagram – Yes, ever & anon, I take my beak 🐦 out of a book & watch some good old fashioned tv! But, find it hard to concentrate UNLESS it’s something like TASKMASTER (or @historyvikings I suppose I should say 😂) which 💯 holds my attention. I fcking love TM! When my health permits I’d like to go on the show to compete. Or perhaps @littlealexhorne can take on a challenge & set remote tasks from bed/home for me. I’d be the first virtual chronically sick contestant! Double entendre;I vouch to be outstandingly impressive 😂 Enough about M.E – what is TASKMASTER & why’s it so damn good? It’s basically famous people making other famous people do stupid things (competitively) & it’s shockingly captivating. I’m not blowing smoke 💨 up anyones woohoo here, the show is incredible & always makes us laugh out loud. Davies judges the performances (mainly comedy peeps) & scores points 😂 with the odd interjection from Horne – the mastermind behind the tasks. I like the point system breaking traditional rules; Davies scores what he wants/feels in the moment 😂 Although I jibed the celebs are doing “stupid” things, the tasks are actually often v.creative requiring lateral thinking/problem solving to complete. Fun to watch! Sometimes it’s a group task, singles or twos. I have the board game too #fangirl but haven’t played yet. Oh wow I just read “Alex Horne’s initial plan was to carry out the tasks in the comedians’ houses” 😂 pop over for a cuppa mate; not a comedienne but actress’ll do. Give this show a watch! 5/5 ⭐️ chucklesome, unique, clever! #tvshowrecommendation
Jennie Jacques Instagram – #psiloveyou is a comforting read ♥️ 🫖 despite the subject of great loss. Holly (protagonist) loses her soulmate/high school sweetheart, Gerry, to a brain tumour. His death (the antagonist) ultimately revels in its role throughout. BUT, dear Gerry has left his darling Holly an unthinkable gift 🎁 On her first birthday without him, the big 3-0, she opens a letter ✉️ – from him! For the next 10 months, despite no longer being in the realm of planet Earth 🌍 he has pre-planned activities, adventures & ultimately “guidance” through that first horrific year of grief 🥹 ^*Spoiler alert – he even books her & her mates a holiday! 🌊 ☀️ It’s a profound concept & the book is different enough from the movie to 💯 recommend reading it 📖 – even if (like me!) you’ve seen the film 12x over haha. It’s not the 1st time I’ve opened this book either! Though far fetched at times, to heighten the entertainment, that’s exactly why I love it. Ahern narrates something lighthearted with a clever touch of comedy 🎭 during a heavy (& heart wrenching situation) without negating the dreaded weight that comes with the death of a loved one. Main message, easier said than done, is life goes on & it’s for living 💥 Holly’s one of four siblings – each very different from one & other – which adds further colour & texture to the novel. Plus, she has two fabulous girlfriends 👯‍♀️ who are given their own stories too! I liked that each of Ahern’s characters had their own arc, with out stealing the show from Holly – the ultimate Karaoke 🎤 Queen 👸 Princess of clumsiness. I won’t give too much away, but if you want an easy & enchanting read this summer, go grab yaself a copy! PS 😜 it’s set in #ireland where we filmed @historyvikings – a place forever close to my heart ❤️ I’m reading #themarblecollector next!
