Jessica Knoll Instagram – We’ve lost Beatrice, our favorite thing in the world. I got to hold her and tell her I loved her as she passed, to thank her for loving me and napping with me and making my heart bigger and showing me how maternal I can be. We loved everything about her—her body, her hunger, her attitude, how she had to be involved with everything with us all the time, on us, touching us, butting her head into bathroom doors to guard us while we peed and showered and then her body was so bodacious we could never get the shower door back open. One time she jumped up on the table and ate a whole cake. When we had parties she would stalk the house like a predator, panting and wild eyed, bc food was around and she had to have it. She loved her daycare but ignored other dogs so I always wondered why she dragged me inside when we got there and came home so exhausted. Recently, I found out they let her hang out and snooze behind the front desk most of the day bc the dog area was “too much for her.” She was so ridiculous and I’m shattered she won’t ever bask in the sun or get her lip stuck on her teeth again. Snuggle up in the nook of my knees. Refuse to walk and eat first and second breakfasts and dinners. She lived like she would live forever and she was such a fighter and I’ll always take that with me. Thank you for loving her too, it brought me pure joy to share her with you on here. If you have a favorite memory of her I want to hear it.
