Kathryn McCormick Instagram – Dedicated to The Bridge Semester 1: “I allow a disconnected and uncertain share. I ground when I recognize that it is needed. I know my worth and value although I am constantly tempted to place a rock on top of it. The fear/pressure is heavy, but the solution is waiting. The rock understands connection at every angle. To sit upon it would bring it equal joy as burying myself beneath it. The rock understands connection at every angle and knows that whether in comfort or discomfort, whether above or below, there is an intimacy and treasure within each moment I can acknowledge what my body is pressing against. We are all pressing against something. We each get to interpret this pressing. Is the floor holding us up or blocking us from going deeper? Is gravity weighing us down or is it making it possible to stand firmly? I continue to discover way more questions than I have answers. So I offer one to you: What does it mean to be perfect? Does the perfect you’re searching for lead to more questions or does it put metal bars around curiosity? No matter what you’re seeking, no matter how you interpret the rock that is pressing in to you, my wish for you is this: -my wish is that you will stay long enough to remind yourself of a safety within -that you will stay long enough to activate your creative mind and allow sensation to be felt/painted with a new perspective. -that you will stay long enough to build a partnership with gestures, words, or connection that continuously bring you home. Because when we are home, we belong. To belong, is to be embodied, which is to always be home. To be partnered with yourself in this way means that there will be no room you have to walk into alone.
