Maci Bookout Instagram – This girl is fearless and I am beyond proud of her. I love seeing her set tough goals and work to achieve them. Albeit hard, as her mom, I also love seeing her come back from failure, only to continue trying and grinding. She’s tougher than most!
Next year she will move up to Girls 3-5 and I’m blessed to have been able to witness her journey and coach her the past 3 years – But her head coaches @mikesutherland15 and @blake_sutherland have helped her develop and grow week after week, and year after year all while making it FUN for her – they’re 10/10 the greatest coaches. I am so grateful for everything this sport has taught her, given her, and for all that it means to my Jayde.
Jayde closed her final season in #TNAAU Girls K-2 as a 2x State Champion and a 3rd Place State finisher, she placed at every #TNAAU Top 100 tournament (9 total placements) in the Girls Division. She is a 2x AAU All American AND competed on the FIRST ever #TNAAU Girls K-8 elementary Region 2 state dual team!
She might not know it now – she probably does, but I’m stating it for the record – Jayde is adding fuel to the fire and continuing to help grow the great sport of GIRLS wrestling.
The Sky is the limit girlfriend, keep grinding and stay tough. SO proud of your perseverance, courage, attitude and work ethic!

Maci Bookout Instagram – Mav is my wild child. He wrestled hard all season long, won a ton of matches against really tough opponents and lost a couple heart breaking matches. He took his athleticism and “feel” that make him naturally a good wrestler, added some new skills he learned this year and really started to understand the sport.
Maverick ended his season with a 27-5 record. He won the @tyrantwrestling Scuffle and competed at #tulsanationals for the very first time, coming up one match short of a medal and already has plans goals set for next year. Mav placed at every #TNAAU Top 100 tournament and placed 1st in his Region. After losing to a tough opponent in a very humbling match, he finished 3rd at the #TNAAU State Tournament! He is now a 2x #aauwrestling All American!
I can only encourage him to celebrate his success and work toward eliminating those heartbreaking losses with hard work in the wrestling room. I can’t wait to see where his wrestling journey takes him! He is so much fun to coach and watch, albeit frustrating at times (we all know what he is capable of), because he really doesn’t take wrestling practice serious, but maybe that’s just the beauty in it all!
Here’s to another year of being the meanest roly-poly in all of Tennessee! Keep having fun and believing in yourself Mr. Maverick!

Maci Bookout Instagram – Benny had a wrestling season for the books. He started off with his final (8th Grade) middle school seasons #BBS and then #aauwrestling.
He had his best finish at the #TNAAU State tournament placing 4th! 👏🏻
He moved up to fill a spot on the high school wrestling team. Hoping to just help the team out with dual/team points… it actually turned into him qualifying for the #TSSAA individual state tournament and then coming up one match short of placing… Finishing his ‘high school’ season with a 20-12 record, as an 8th Grader!
I asked Bentley what his favorite moment of his very long season was, and without question he said, “when we won the #TSSAA Dual State Championship!” I’ll add, for the record, this team won its first State Championship in its very first trip to the state dual tournament. Hard earned and well deserved by a bunch of talented & hardworking kids, supportive families & athletic program, and most definitely their amazing coaching staff that is no doubt top tier! Thank you so much @msutherland16 @blake_sutherland and @bbs_athletics 💙💪🏻
