We are so honored to present another grant cycle of aurora loving kindness project. Applications are open now until march 31st ! This season’s grant cycle is supporting artists and creatives who are dedicated to themes of rematriation and a love of earth that drives the core of what they do. As the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust defines it, “Rematriation is Indigenous women-led work to restore sacred relationships between Indigenous people and our ancestral land, honoring our matrilineal societies, and in opposition of patriarchal violence and dynamics.”
we also have a really exciting mentorship cohort program, where all 6 artists will also be paired with their own individual mentor who has their own experience in this space. All artists and mentors will also be engaged in a cohort , where they can share their projects and offer support and learning from each other. we will be prioritizing Black & Brown women + gender-expansive artists, providing $1,111 micro-grants to 6 grantees. Half of the grants are reserved for indigenous artists .
I am so excited to say that since 2021, nearly $17,000 in grants have been given out in mutual aid to 16 recipients, who have also engaged in some really beautiful healing cohort and mentorship programs ♥️♥️ we will continue to do the best we can with the humble resources we have !
