Bassel Khayyat Instagram – “I like acting, but I am ready to give it up at any moment because I refuse to let it control my life.” This month, Syrian actor #BasselKhaiat opens up to #VogueArabia about his craft, and the journey that lead him to become one of the most successful talents in the Arab world. As he takes on a fan-favorite romantic role in the hit series, Al Thaman, Khaiat reflects on his humble beginnings. “I used to sell opuntia and semolina desserts prepared by my mother. Getting more involved in the practical life later, I used to sell school bags and shoes,” he remembers.
