Feeling burnt out so I took a few days off for a staycation, spent the entire day in my garage tinkering and it felt amazing. My garage is my favorite space and the weather today was perfect for building. Here’s some stuff I got done: -Installed new smart lights behind the squat rack -Built a new weight storage system to replace my weight tree. Now I’ve freed up space for an exercise bike and found a good use for some severely underutilized space under the shelves my dad and I built together -Did a deep clean and reorganized some accessories that have been kinda floating for a bit, now they’ve got their own little home -Also, a few weeks ago I upgraded my sound system with some thrifted speakers that sound spectacular. I built some spartan shelves for them and ran cable through the ceiling, very happy with how they turned out. Gonna spend the next few days sewing, writing, watching X-Files and relaxing ✌🏼

Another birthday, another movie at the drive-in. Got to show this crew Shogun Assassin, I forgot how fuckin insane that movie is. Huge shoutout to @bluestarlitedrivein for being so accommodating and letting me celebrate another birthday with them! If you’re ever in Austin, you gotta go to a movie with Blue Starlite. Hands down my favorite Austin business. Also @mandodoesstuff was there but he was taking a shit or something while we took the photo.

I remember spotting one of these being used by a station master while waiting for a train in Tokyo. I thought it was such a simple yet fascinating device and have been on the search for one ever since. Can’t wait to go back to Japan, hopefully by the end of this year. Thanks again, Nick!
