1 year with you. Since I met you I’ve felt as though I’ve been living in perpetual sunlight. I like the sun because you can’t buy it, grasp it or possess it. You can only appreciate it when it’s there. Love is quite the same. I love you.
The destination is the journey, how it shapes you, helps you grow. Build your body and mind while you’re young. Choose a path that’ll expand your consciousness and capacity daily. Your future self will thank you. Regardless of the outcome, I’m so grateful for what my journey as a swimmer is teaching me – indispensable tools and lessons of perseverance I will utilise throughout my life in the future as a musician, businessman, friend & human being.

Happy 1st Birthday to “Cody Simpson” the Album. I recorded this album in 8 days amidst the early days of my swim training. I released it regardless of my inability to play gigs, tour and promote it due to the intensity of (and my dedication to) what I’m trying to achieve as an athlete. It’s still the proudest I’ve been of a body work, and a glimpse into my future as an artist. I was too stoked on the final product not to share it and I owe so much to my fans for being so unreal and supportive of me through the years. You guys have stuck by me and our journey together is far from over. Playing guitar, writing songs and being a musician is such an integral part of my identity. One day when this chapter of my life has closed I’ll be back on stage, but for now.. thank you for listening.

#WorldPoetryDay marks almost three years of the original seed: Prince Neptune, poetry & prose. A dazed and somewhat disorderly first collection of words, thoughts and poems amassed and gleaned from notebooks through a coming-of-age period in my life. An interesting thought is that I started my journey as a swimmer not long after I released this, it must have marked a shift in the tide for me.
