In 2017, I traveled to the beautiful country of Uganda to help @OxfamAmerica and @OxfaminUganda support people fleeing the brutal conflict in South Sudan.
I was profoundly inspired by the people I met. Both the warriors of OXFAM and the refugees of SS. I couldn’t believe the resilience and fortitude of the survivors; humor, grace and compassion in the wake of unimaginable violence and horror.
I witnessed firsthand Oxfam’s partnership with organizations like Community Empowerment for Rural Development (CEFORD) to make real, enduring transformations happen at a local level.
Today is #WorldHumanitarianDay.
Let’s take a second to celebrate the accomplishments of those that devote their lives to less privileged souls around the world.
We are forever in your debt.
