Sadly I won’t be going to the Shazam premiere tonight because I finally caught Covid. Had to travel all over Europe and talk to a ton of entertainment journalists but I finally caught that bastard! Seriously though I’m so grateful to have gotten to work with such an amazing cast and crew and I’m glad I got to at least join some of them for the European screenings. Have the best of times tonight! #ShazamFuryOfTheGods EDIT: I have done more than one test but it doesn’t matter anyway because I’m still feeling sick and wouldn’t be able to go.

I start out with 3D environments, temp music, sound. 2)Then sound and color goes. 3D environment is just boxes. 3)And eventually it’s just a slideshow of 2D doodles. No time to sketch or erase, what’s drawn is drawn. All still made in Blender. 4)A bonus doodle of a deleted opening scene leading up to the museum (the shot scene will be among the deleted scenes on the home release).

Was going through some of my Super8 tests I shot earlier this year. There’s just something about the look of Super8 that I love so much. 🎞️

Cam Closer 2 – 10 years later! Oh boy oh boy oh boy, we made another short film! It’s been three years since our last, but most notably, 10 whole years since we made our first. Cam Closer was the one that started our short film journey, the one before Lights Out and everything that came after, so it felt kinda fitting to return to where we once started with this sequel of sorts. Making these little shorts together will forever be one of my favorite things in the whole world. It’s something we do just for the joy of making them, but we sure hope you love them too! 😱Go watch it! LINK IN BIO!😱

Some 16mm testing. The built in lens seems to be a bit off on the camera. Things that can happen when buying old cameras on eBay. For one it’s definitely not parfocal which it’s supposed to be. Wanted to do some tests with a higher f-stop so this was shot on Kodak Vision3 500T with an 85B filter and a bit of ND. At the end there’s a 16mm vs Super8 comparison. Not a very scientific one but I happened to have shot myself in the bathroom mirror with the two cameras (although one at day & one at night). Camera is a Canon Scoopic 16M.
