Elton John Instagram – In this 30 year fight to reduce HIV transmissions and ultimately end AIDS, there are some particularly meaningful days, and yesterday was one of them. I was pleased to testify to Republican and Democrat Senators during a Senate Hearing to extend the essential US PEPFAR initiative for another 5 years. The results of PEPFAR investment in HIV/AIDS education, prevention and compassionate care in the past 20 years are quite mind-blowing – it has saved 25 million lives and the positive repercussions on people’s life chances and communities are impossible to imagine. This global network of collaborative partners and funding is so vitally important to everything we do @ejaf and continuing #pepfar means we really can, one day soon, consign AIDS to the history books. #pepfar
