Laura and I were honored to have known Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She was a woman of great intellect, charm, and wit. Spending time at Buckingham Palace, and having tea with Her Majesty – and her Corgis – is among our fondest memories of the presidency. Queen Elizabeth ably led England through dark moments with her confidence in her people and her vision for a brighter tomorrow. Our world benefitted from her steady resolve, and we are grateful for her decades of service as sovereign. Americans in particular appreciate her strong and steadfast friendship. Laura and I join our fellow citizens in sending our heartfelt condolences to the Royal family and the British people.

Happy birthday — and anniversary— to my beautiful bride of 45 years.
If you want to lead people, you have to like people. Through @masterclass, I’m teaching my approach to executive leadership for the first time. I’m opening up my painting studio, and @laurawbush will be joining us for a few lessons, too. I hope that you can draw on my experience as president to communicate with sincerity and lead with confidence. Link in bio.

Let Freedom Ring 🇺🇸 Repost from @thebushcenter • “Let Freedom Ring” by President @georgewbush
Laura and I wish a very happy 98th birthday to President Jimmy Carter this Saturday. @thecartercenter
This is a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. It’s a powerful reminder of our duty to honor the victims, support our first responders and military, and remember the lessons from that day. May God Bless the memories of the victims of 9/11, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.
Martin Luther King did not live to celebrate his 40th birthday. Yet in the short time he walked upon this earth, he preached that all the powers of evil are ultimately no match for one individual armed with eternal truths. The reason to honor Martin Luther King is to remember his strength of character and his leadership, but also to remember the remaining work. There’s no better way to spend Veterans Day weekend than riding mountain bikes with some of America’s finest citizens. Laura and I are grateful to all who have served and sacrificed for our freedoms. 📷: @grantmillerphotography

Repost @thebushcenter President Bush surprised a group of @smudallas student veterans this morning as the Bush Center celebrates its 10-year anniversary. He expressed his gratitude for the students’ service in the U.S. military — many of whom are at @smudallas through the GI Bill —before taking questions from and photos with them. A decade ago, when the Bush Museum opened to the public, President Bush surprised the first group of students in the Oval Office replica while they were on a field trip. We’re grateful to SMU and the North Texas community for welcoming us and look forward to continuing to be a part of these vibrant communities.
Laura and I were honored to sign the condolence book for Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II last week. We thank His Majesty’s Consul General and Mrs. Richard Hyde for coming to @thebushcenter and allowing us to pay tribute to a great friend to America. May her example of duty, honor, and strength continue to guide us.

We’re a big enough nation to do more than one thing. To continue the fight against AIDS on the continent of Africa and to support Ukraine is not going to strain our capacity to help our own citizens. We are a compassionate country that cares deeply about people.
Re-post from @thebushcenter # President @georgewbush and Mrs. @laurawbush will be joined by the 66th U.S. Secretary of State Dr. @condoleezzarice and the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania Dr. @jakayakikwete for a conversation during PEPFARat 20, a Bush Institute event celebrating 20 years of the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (@pepfar ), taking place later this month in Washington D.C. The trio will discuss the inception of PEPFAR, its enormous impact worldwide, and how the program is a win for partner countries and for U.S. foreign policy. Learn more at the link in our bio.
