It was probably cos Danny Dyer couldn’t make it 😂 but I’m honoured to be the face and voice of Custom House, as part of the new Elizabeth Line audio guides. Growing up here life could have gone another way. There’s obviously unlimited distractions and negative influences which is a result of poverty and I know my face could have been plastered up in the ends for a completely different reason, but I’m thankful to the village for looking after me. From my boys, my parents, lil bro, neighbours, youth club, bossman at the corner shop all the way down to the bus driver that would still let me on when I didn’t have p’s. Everyone played their part. Catch me on ITV news today talking about it, and I hope this shows that your environment can provide some very real challenges, but it is possible to overcome them. 🏚️ Special thanks to @transportforlondon

Ezzy’s first trim. A lot of people talk about the importance of discussing the birds and the bees with your kids, but long before that they need to know about the importance of a Barber. A lot of man seeing a different barber every week 🫣Can’t trust them man. Certain man seeing other Barbers behind their Barber’s back and posting pics with their hair cropped out. Don’t know how they sleep at night 🤢🫠 I’m not perfect. Had a weak moment a few years ago and got a cut while on holiday. Thought I got away with it but @damonno1barber asked me mid-trim “You’ve seen someone else haven’t you?” He wasn’t angry, just disappointed. It broke me man 💔 Shout out all the Barbers though. Aka counsellors, guardians, peace makers, pillars of the community. God protect you as you protect our hairlines. 🙏🏾

I feel that way about the society we live in sometimes. Might not see the final form we’d like just yet but keep contributing in whatever way you can. One way that’s helpful for me is using art. The album drops this month and I can’t wait man 🏚️ Ps it’s been a mad few weeks on TikTok. 5 million views 😳 We’re building a sick community on there and big ups @tiktok_uk on making me the feature artist for the Rap campaign 🖤

For one of Ezra’s activities, I asked him to design me an alternative album cover. Limited copies available now on my official store. Told him to draw me his expression of fire and he done his ting. I wanted the original cover to be as raw as possible. It’s important to show the reality of the village we live in so we understand why change is necessary and we don’t live in an illusion. With that being said, i think protecting the innocence of children is also important. They shouldn’t have to feel burdened by problems they didn’t create. Complicated and hard to find the balance because the world is both wonderful and dangerous but I can’t lie, it’s sick having age-appropriate conversations with Ez even at this stage. 🏚️ (If his cover sells more than mine I’m gonna be offended though. That’s a par.)
