It’s his last day being 6 and I couldn’t be prouder of the young man that he’s becoming. Thanks for teaching me so much about life my boy. One of the things I fell in love with over a decade ago was that you cherished the heart of a child. You influence the next generation by the way that you love these boys and I could not be more proud of you. As Mother Teresa said, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” You do this well my dear. Oh, and look how they adore you in this pic! I love you always!
I can’t say enough about Dolly Parton. She is everything that you would ever hoped that she is. I actually said to our publicist the other day, “Is there anyone in the world that does not like Dolly, even in the music industry?!” And they were like “No, she’s just universally loved by everyone..” The process of getting to know her & her story & where she comes from has been very special to say the least. To be able to actually know that she is who she says she is is really sweet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m not gonna lie, the first time I heard her vocal on God Only Knows there was something about the way that she sang those words…the amount of weight that came from just her singing these lyrics- there’s a potency and a weight to it that was really emotional for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thank you @dollyparton for joining us on spreading this message and song of God Only Knows.
I’ve mowed the lawn with all the boys but this little guy (Leo) never wants to get off early. Never wants to quit. He always wants to finish what he started even if he can’t stay awake. I hope this is a characteristic for his entire life.

While we were in Australia, our farm cat decided she wanted to be a mother. A couple of days ago, she gave birth and I couldn’t help but be amazed by the beauty of these little guys. New life is always a wonder!

I’ve loved this verse for so many years. I read it for the first time while I was doing a devotional called, Experiencing God when I was much younger and I’ve never forgotten it. You see, it’s moments like the times we’re living through that we have to remember that our faith isn’t circumstantial. In fact, I’d venture to say that these are the moments where we truly live out our faith. No, I won’t be someone who trusts in money, health or buildings or any of that sort. I trust in God!
Yesterday we had a day off and we got to visit, @whitesandsnps. An off day isn’t just for rest and sleep, but sometimes it’s more importantly about emotional and spiritual rest. I found that a coffee, breakfast , laughter, a hike, and getting to walk these beautiful white dunes was the sabbath I needed. Love this quote by John Mark Comer: “You can even rest to the glory of God. When you enjoy the world as God intended — with a cup of coffee, a nap in a hammock, a good meal, time with friends, it glorifies God — it calls attention to the Creator’s presence and beauty all around us. It’s hard to write all that someone means to you but I can say this, Courtney is simply an excellent mother with the greatest of love for everyone but especially, her family. The kids draw so much from you and one of the many reasons why I wanted to marry you is because I wanted to have kids like you. Kids that would love like you. Kids that would live like you and kids that would love Jesus like you. Thanks for being such a wonderful mother! We adore you!

It’s been a hectic few days and one of the best ways for me to destress and relax is with a trip into nature. My favorite part of today was an evening hike with my family where I remembered to not only look where I was going but to also look up and soak in the sights.

I know I’m not the best at posting things here but today we released a new song called Relate. The concept of the song was to explore what it means to show compassion and empathy to others while understanding that it’s impossible for us to have walked in everyone else’s shoes. Is it possible to hurt when another hurts? Not because you’ve experienced that exact pain but because you see it in their eyes. Can you relate?
