Andrija Cikic a beautiful angel from Serbia who was killed in the recent shootings. What a loss of talent and what a tragedy. He was a budding virtuoso. He has a YouTube channel where you can listen to his music. Let’s fight for a world without mass shootings. No child deserves to die. Let’s spread more progressive ideas into the world so that the working class can fight off the fascist threat and build a better world than the one we have. From America to Serbia to Iraq to the video games and the Hollywood movies to how people treat each other on a daily basis. Violence is everywhere and at all times being promoted by politicians and the powers that be. Everything that is enlightening and human and nurturing is looked down upon but violence is lifted as the highest ideal. The thing we should all aspire to. What does intellect matter? What is learning from history? What is learning from politics? None of that matters! To be cold, hateful, selfish and murderous is the modus operandi and you are seen as insane for thinking otherwise. What is human progress? What are revolutions but a waste of time? What are principles? All this is garbage, outdated garbage. It’s a about having nice public relations, being liked and going for the money. Well my question is how can we expect healthy societies under these conditions?

From “LIFE” an opera by the extraordinary late Ryuichi Sakamoto. What a legacy of beauty. How relevant is this powerful musical depiction of a monumental crime now more than ever. This was conducted in 1999 and features Oppenheimer’s farewell speech.
