I’m angry about the lessening in aid and compassion towards them. But I am always moved and inspired by their strength and warmth. Angelina Jolie Instagram – Asia Abdelmajid was killed in Khartoum yesterday, one of the many Sudanese people who have died or been wounded in the last three weeks.

The people of Sudan have tried again and again to have a transition to civilian rule and stability and freedoms in their country. What is now happening to them – again – is a tragedy. I hope people listen to the voices of the Sudanese people themselves about what is needed. And while emergency relief must come, it should never – as often happens – be in place of the larger discussion about what is needed to end the conflict and help the people to stabilize their country, and the role that many countries have had and continue to have in the suffering of the people.

Sudanese people are making extraordinary efforts to help each other, and to get vulnerable families to safety. Please visit the link in my bio to learn more.
