Filming on location can sometimes displace you and make you lose friendships because you are constantly disappointing those you love with your absence. But…sometimes it’s magic. Because you have the opportunity to meet new friends you wouldn’t have otherwise. Like this woman right here: Katie Shaffer, the incredible mastermind behind @feastitforward who is a boon to the Napa Valley. One day -Our dog Skye, pulled us across the road and into her business 5 years ago and she has become one of our dearest and treasured take aways from our time here filming @13reasonswhy. She even hosted an after party for the cast and crew of 13RW following the screening of my directorial debut #3 Normandy Lane. She has created a network that is a growing champion of fantastic food, film, philanthropy and wine for the benefit of the community. Recently, her daughter took this series of fun photos in her new space “The Yard” behind @feastitforward which is a historical gathering spot for concerts, food tastings, music festivals, and celebrations of all sizes. Her vision is fueled by her desire to give back to the world through the things that she loves. She even sent us a bottle champagne posthumously from our dear Skye to celebrate our anniversary.
