The gown has a pink and grey drapey bit to either denote what her degree is or that she just really loves Galahs. She is wearing a white shirt and a big silver locket. Her hair is completely pulled back and the mortarboard is giving her a pronounced widows peak. Behind her is a fully fake fancy bookshelf and some plants, that are supposed to make her look learned and erudite. Her smile is vague and inoffensive, as if she is not fully into having this photo taken. Which she wasn’t. Competition’s hotting up for Barnacle, but he wants to recommend @theclairehooper and @thenikkibritton’s show at the Adelaide Fringe right now, as well as @geraldinehickey, @kirstywebeck and @lizzyhoo’s shows in the @melbcomedyfestival (Hooper and Britten will also be there too). Pirate demonstrating some Box Work today. His ability to switch forms is just amazing. Two more shows in Adelaide for me, then on to Canberra and Gold Coast. Tonight while I ate dinner I had my hoodie zipped up to the neck, and my dressed tucked into the bottom of it, to avoid last night’s noodle sauce based incident. The premise for the exhibition is that Earth has been abandoned by humankind, and Lego mini figs have taken over, building cities in the relics left behind. It’s properly enchanting. Barnacle shoots out, getting a bag handle round his neck which Cal removes. Pirate takes up position by the window, like he doesn’t even care. Barnacle turns around and goes back into his bag. All is right with the world.
