Mickalene is working closely with Dior and the Brooklyn Museum to help put together this years Artist Ball which I am lucky enough to be honored at this year. Mickalene, I am forever inspired by you and forever grateful for your friendship.
To say that I am honored would be an understatement. I give a profound amount of thanks to the Hasselblad Foundation for awarding me with the Hasselblad Award laureate of 2023. I look forward to accepting this award in October and for a beautiful exhibition to follow.

A Movement in Every Direction: Legacies of the Great Migration opens at the Brooklyn Museum on March 3rd. My projects The North Star and Leave, Leave Now! will be on display. I encourage you to attend and see the works from so many other wonderful artists in the show.
