What a wild and beautiful night. I’m so grateful and honored to be a part of @blakeshelton ‘s very last show on @nbcthevoice ❤️ I can’t believe it’s been twelve years since I hit that stage. I was just 22 years old and scared shitless the entire time. Blake always made me feel safe and capable and hopeful. 12 years. Wow. Time really does fly. So many memories came back to me when I walked on stage. Even the smell of the sound stage was so familiar. Like artificial rain and cold cement and fog machines. I weirdly love that smell. I feel like it’ll be futile to try to express how much Blake means to me and how drastically he has changed my life… I honestly don’t know where to start. I love Blake. His kindness, generosity, humor, empathy and talent have touched many people across the world. I’m so grateful to have shared the stage with him and to have spent time with him on the road. Love you, man! ❤️
Huge shoutout and thank you to: @thevoicewardrobe & @voiceglam @theadorable1 @hairbyregina for the fabulous hair, makeup and glam. 🥰🥰🥰

I write a lot of songs but one of my favorite things to do (and main source of inspiration) is sing other people’s songs. Loving this @lewiscapaldi ballad. ❤️❤️❤️
And I apologize… my guitar needs some TLC. The neck is pretty messed up and it won’t stay in tune.

When you sing… every single note effects the next one. How you sing your low notes 100% effects how your high notes sound.
I often think about this… and think about how it applies to my everyday life.
I know that when a singer sings a high note, it dazzles most listeners… but it truly is how they’ve handled the low notes that came before, that allow that kind of freedom and expression.
Sing your low “notes” with gratitude, attention to detail, and your high notes will come.
Happy Monday, friends.
❤️❤️❤️

My best pick up line in middle school: “I’m in a band.”

Over the past 18 years, with all my ups and downs, this band has always been a constant support for me. It’s brought me so much joy, laughter, love, and community. It has taught me patience, gratitude, responsibility and how to drive a van and trailer in the winter in Canada. 😝 I am so grateful for this band family and cannot wait to share the new @meganddiamusic record with ya’ll. (Ya, I say ya’ll now cause we’re in Texas, baby!)

Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery.
For a while now, I’ve been feeling anxious that maybe I didn’t have anything more to say as a songwriter. Or even worse, nothing more to say in an interesting way. I struggled to write lyrics that I felt connected to. Nothing seemed to inspire me. I’d watch films, read books, meet new people in LA, but when I got back to the empty page I still felt empty, too.
Being in Austin, tucked away in a little cottage with my dearest friends, has been quite a surprising experience.
Almost like I forgot we flew out here to write a record. It feels more like an epic slumber party. Late movie nights. Long conversations about love and what our top five movies are. Dancing. Laughing. Coffee runs. Walks by the river. Therapy sessions. Passing the BBQ sauce. Screaming at the TV while watching some cheap reality show. Sitting on the porch talking about touring in our teens.
And somehow, we’ve already written 8 songs. Like Magic.
Reminder: Enjoy the process. Forget about the result. Make it fun again. ❤️

Ireland – My two cents’ worth. 🍀
Bring rain boots. ☔️
Queen of Tarts was my favorite spot for breakfast or tea time. (They close Mon & Tues).
Dublin is a sad, beautiful, and vibrant city… but take time to explore the small towns. Howth, I’ve heard from the locals, is a must see and not far from Dublin. And gorgeous Dun Laoghaire was a 30 min. ride on the Dart. (Train in Dublin).
The bus is tricky and frustrating. Even the locals don’t like it and find it unreliable. Rent a car or take the train. (Also, buses only take coin, or a travel card you have to buy in advance). I found it confusing.
Uber and Lyft are illegal in Ireland… but there are taxis around in busy areas like Temple Bar.
Vintage Cocktail Club was a nice evening. (Reservations are a MUST! I found that out the hard (cold and rainy) way.
The Book of Kells and Long Hall at the Trinity college library was stunning. And the smell of old books… mmmmm. 🥰
Christ’s Church was nice. (Venture into the catacombs underneath it. Can be easily missed).
St. Patrick’s Cathedral … also a dream.
Merchant’s Arch was a bar I enjoyed, right off the river Liffey by the Ha’ Penny bridge.
Rosa Madre was a nice Italian spot. Not to throw shade but… it’s great if you’re close by, but I wouldn’t schedule your day around it. Wonderful but not life changing.
A good matcha latte… good luck. Let me know if you find one. 😂
And sure, St. Peter’s Green is “just a park,” but it was my favorite spot. I dunno. I like nature. And I love parks and walking around and staring at flowers. 🤷🏽♀️
Cobblestone Pub and The Brazen Head were fun pubs and had great live music.
Temple Bar area was too touristy and … Vegas-y for my liking but… entertaining to walk through to say the least. You’ll see a lot of public urination and throwing up in alley ways… and I have a feeling those folks weren’t Irish.
I didn’t have time on this trip but I’ve heard Belfast, Cork, Galway and of course the cliffs are worth it. Next time.
There’s a lot more to say about Ireland. If you have any questions, especially about spots you saw I visited in my stories, let me know in the comments below and I’ll try to answer more specifically. ❤️🍀
