Jennie Jacques Instagram – Blown away (again)💥 🪄great sequel; same 3 protagonists, Potter, Weasley & Grainger; 1 summer wiser & the challenges a shade darker 🐍 ☠️ * Grainger’s put on the back foot when she’s 1 of the 3 students to get petrified (& hospitalised!) – the lads take the lead in this “attempted assignation” mystery 🤷‍♀️ I can’t say murder mystery cos (thankfully!) no one actually dies 📸 🐈 * Hermione’s dedication to research up to the moment she’s “caught off guard” leaves extra clues for Harry & Ron; it’s a lil bit of a whodunit! I love Hermione as much as she loves the school library 🙃 📚 * Plot is def more complex 📖 – richer & chocker with more magic ⚠️ Several arch’s come together at the end 🤤 & NEW characters (like Dobby, the crazy lil’ House Elf! & Moaning Murtle the toilet 🚽 ghost 👻) add splashes of unexpected fresh colour to it all 💫 – from Tom Riddle’s magic diary 📔 (which appears empty but can actually write back to the holder!) to the screeching Mandrakes (plants!) saving lives & gigantic spiders 🕷️ & snakes 🐍 – you won’t be disappointed! * At the heart ♥️ is this tale of a “chamber of secrets” – supposedly existing within the school 🏫 Fear this term 😨 spreads fast when it seems the chamber is proved real & moreover has been “unlocked” – someone/something is on a “wishful” killing spree? References to “half bloods” & “pure bloods” steer the narrative; what wants to clear the school of kids who don’t come from a family of full blooded 🩸 Wizards & Witches?? * Hierarchy, racism & indoctrination seep in, yet the book remains loyal to its roots; friendship, doing the right thing & “rules & rebellion” soar through the skies 🌌 🚘 💥 Another easy read… couldn’t put it down!
