JoJo Instagram – 💎•Lovers & Friends•💎 The past couple weeks as I’ve been settling into Broadway life I was also putting together a special 30 minute set for Lovers & Friends 🥰 Was so excited about connecting with the audience and singing a couple mash-ups we had planned just for this set: Think About You into Carl Thomas’s “I Wish” and Leave (Get Out) into Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough”. But unfortunately- it didn’t get to be heard 😢 Me and my crew were waiting at the stage over 30 minutes before our scheduled time and were all ready to hit at my scheduled 6:10 slot! The band was about to start playing when alluvasudden no one could hear anything in their in-ear monitors. For 15 minutes the sound team tried to figure out what the problem was with the monitor system but eventually had to quickly change out all of our monitor packs and just press play on the show. I was so frazzled and frustrated I forgot the words to my first song (which I neeeevvvvvver do) and then 4 songs into my set I hear my sound guy’s voice saying- we gotta go to the last song… the next act was scheduled to go on… so I’m like alrighty then! And we wrapped it tf up as best we could. Social media tends to be a highlight reel at best and a total fabrication at worst. Festivals are crazy and spontaneous as everyone knows. Just wanted to share a little bit of story behind the smiles, the styling and the shapewear, and the clips where I look and sound up to par with how I want to look and sound. Things happen that are totally out of our control. Just wanted to share: I was deflated cuz I was proud of what we had put together for Lovers&Friends and we didn’t get to execute. Anyways- thank you to the beeeeaaauutiful crowd who came out to rock with me @ the bling stage!!!! I had a good time at the end once I internally calmed down and was able to re-connect to the moment. I LOVE YALL 4ever. I hope you could feel that :)
