Lily Cole Instagram – Today is a big day for HILMA, the film by Lasse Hallström (who captured by heart as a child watching What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) – HILMA is today released in cinemas across the US, and simultaneously on U.K. streaming platform ViaPlay.
Hilma tells the incredible story of Hilma Af Klint and the women (“The Five”) who developed some of the ideas and philosophies behind her pioneering abstract work; and why it took so many decades for Hilma’s work to come to light. I play Matilda Nilsson (one of The Five). It was a beautiful experience to make the film and I hope you enjoy watching it.
