Bursting with love and gratitude for being gifted the privilege of being someone’s everything 🤍 My birthing story 🫶🏻 I was ready for you my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for you to meet the world as soon as you did. I did my best to hold myself together throughout my 16 hours of labour— praying so very hard that you’ll do okay just shy of 36 weeks old. My water broke and before I knew it, my first born son came into the world naturally— but with epidural because sis here has the worst pain tolerance and I swear epi saved my birthing experience. Mamas who did without, y’all crazy but mad respect. As I suffered from pretty bad nausea due to the after-effects of epidural (nausea meds did not work for me) plus the extreme fatigue from the most intense 30-min HIIT “pushing” workout of my life, I thought to myself, wow, one must reaaally want children to have to endure all the messiness— pain is a given but birthing is MESSY. I consider myself on the luckier side that I had no complications and the only thing to worry about was that my son was a little premie at 35 weeks, but according to our amazing Doc, our baby boy screaming his lungs out and opening his eyes upon birth were positive signs he’d do really well in the world. Fast forward to nearly the end of my confinement now and it’s been a roller coaster of emotions. ‘Twas a steady crawl up to the peak of unexplainable joy, then a steep drop to the lowest of lows of foreign feelings of hopelessness, anxiety and a score of negative emotions all of which make you wonder why on earth did you decide to embark on this motherhood adventure in the first place. I suppose that’s why they say parenthood’s an adventure— daunting yet exciting, challenging yet fulfilling. Constantly getting warned that it’s tough and that it’ll only gonna get harder 😅 Had loads of kind reminders that I’m not alone on this embarkation which I didn’t ask for but didn’t know how much I needed. Thank you to my parents tribe, we can all be on this crazy bandwagon together. I suppose when our sweet baby angel looks at us especially with that accidental dimpled smile, it really does feel worth all that gosh damned trouble after all 🤍

Extremely nervous but very eagerly entering a new phase of my life! Just about a month to go now before I get to meet my baby 👶🏻 Gots the best support group a woman could ask for from steadfast mothers in different phases of their journey, to strong independent women in different stages of their careers & life. I get to take in amazing all-rounded perspective & advice on juggling life and motherhood.
