Atop the peaceful and serene Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple, located at the peak of the Kumaon Hills in Uttarakhand, where it is believed that the 5500 year old Shiva linga was built and worshipped by the Pandavas during their exile. Mukteshwar is also so called because it is believed that Shiva slayed a demon here but also gave him liberation.
The trek to the temple is a journey full of history, and one immerses into the spirituality and shraddha of thousands of devotees while soaking in a breathtaking view.
I can still feel the calmness from there.
We did a road trip across Uttarakhand – there is so much diversity in the terrain and each district has so much beauty to offer. I’m absolutely in love with how they’ve maintained the dense forests and hills while developing the area around and building great roads.

There’s a new show on CBeebies called ‘what’s in your bag?’ where they explore different professions through something that’s most special to them and represents what they do. The idea is share the various possibilities out there and in a simple manner explain what the work entails!
It makes me so happy that they’ve featured a ‘Bharatanatyam dancer’ as one of the professions amidst so many fun and diverse people from different backgrounds like an Opera Singer, Dentist, Hairdresser, Wildlife Photographer, Civil Engineer and so many more!
