Behr just found homie as we were walking in the house, of course Val and I were clueless and didn’t see him… hopefully I didn’t scare dude away after messing with him, seen him around the house the past 6 months or so… love my garden, so it’s my 70cc Honda exhaust and this dude against the gophers…I hope he is eating well 🙂

Last year I went to France and entered @mountainofhell_official for my first MTB race… I qualifying 331 out of 1000 and had arguably one of the best vacations of my life…
In a little over a week I go back to test fate again… last year I was in the worst shape of my life and honestly scared of covid effects, strokes etc. I had heard all the drama, and since I have kids… that was a big one to be wrong about, so I took it easy on the cardio.
I feel I am in much better shape and willing to send it this year, hoping for a 250ish qual
You only live once people, I had been watching these videos for years and wanted to try this event because it is a mass start and one of the longest DH/enduro races there are… (normally MTB races are one person on track at a time)
Everyone thought I was nuts, including my friend and rider for Specialized @marshallmullen,I think it took him 2 weeks to realize I was serious…
Sometimes you just gotta say fuck it and send it… this time definitely paid off
Time to roll the dice again…
If any other Americans are going, I’d love to meet up and have a beer…

Survived 70mi today riding with this killer @mason_klein1 … I probably won’t be able to walk right for a week, lol… I literally can’t remember the last time I rode. Was stoked to find out a few years ago that there was a fast kid representing the USA and that he lived a few blocks away, eventually got lucky and met his family at our local breakfast spot… he offered to drag me around his training loops, had a blast, and saw my town like you only can poaching on a dirt bike…

Feel like I’m not supposed to be riding without a 10mm on my chest if I’m going to be crossing these trails solo… stopped to take this picture and immediately felt the urge to check the tree line lol… if you’ve ever seen the “bear come out of the ground moto video” you know what I’m talking about… having said that, the locals say the bears ain’t shit compared to the moose… evidently the biggest moose I’ve ever seen, 5 minutes before this photo, was still haunting me…
