Today, safe storage and universal background checks passed into Michigan law because of the continued pressure from @marchforourlives and the MSU and Oxford survivors who turned their grief into action.
In the first pic Governor Gretchen Whitmer high-fives MSU student and March For Our Lives organizer Joseph Kesto after signing the first gun law in 40 years in Michigan. Young people stood up at MSU in the wake of unspeakable tragedy and made this change possible.
It’s been over 5 years and we continue to make progress one state at a time. Now we need to get young people running for state legislatures. Congress isn’t gonna change until we win the states.
