“No Day But Today” J.L Life on the road is kinda ridiculous, a friend said to me… “Don’t you just want to have a normal life & not have to be traveling all the time?” As a Cancerian star sign 🦀 the answer is YES! Of course! They then added “I could never! I would hate that life.” (They didn’t mean it maliciously). But it resonated & I can assure you it can be unsettling for all of us who travel to entertain or where your work means you rarely get to settle… but embracing the unknown and learning to be ok with change forced this hermit crab out of his shell. If it didn’t I wouldn’t have met all the beautiful humans who inspire me everyday like @eleroko I often wonder what my life would look like if I kept dancing full time. As I said in my last post I saw the new Australian Ballet works last weekend, the end of a very busy but special 6 month tour of Australia; Solitary Man, Tick Tick Boom, Qantas 100th birthday, 5 bedrooms, a movie & gigs. Like with Jonathon Larson, the ballet reminded us that no moment is wasted, there are no mistakes & everything happens for a reason, it brought you here. This ballet was truly a blessing of memories, love & knowing. Adam Bull is retiring from the dance after 22 years, I was in my first year of ballet school when he was in his first in the company. If I had kept dancing & had half the career he has, I would be so happy 🙂 watching so many ballet superstars come together for this new piece took me back in time & was a strong reminder of why we do what we do. The reason why we entertain & the greatest gift is that we’re surrounded by people equally mad enough to sacrifice a lot of things we take for granted like coming home to your same bed every night. Jonathan Larson wrote “what a way to spend the day” when he wrote that he was referring to working in a diner while he was writing his new piece “Rent” he died before he saw it but… he got it 🙂 #thankyou

Darling Julia happy one year bf anniversary & a very happy birthday to you. We’ve seen it all from Australia to Europe, East coast to West. My favourite travel companion. Love you all over the world. May this be the very best year yet… the best is yet to come 😉
