Still sorta sorting through all the thoughts and feelings that are coursing through me today after wrapping up my 5 night stand at @lctheater last night. I moved to New York City 20 years ago to do an Off-Broadway play called Kimberly Akimbo. It’s a hit Broadway musical now. Perhaps you’ve heard of it! I was 18. I lived on 70th street on the UWS. I was a regular at Francesco’s Pizza, Il Violino and a card carrying VHS renter at Tower Records. RIP. All I wanted to do was be an actor and play songs that I wrote. Naturally, there have been ups and downs and somber open mics and hellish auditions and awful heartaches along the way and I have shot myself in the foot time and time again but somehow here I am all these years later failing upwards and getting to do the stuff that keeps me alive with friends and family by my side to see it all through with me. If you’d told that 18 year old kid that I would be gifted with opportunities such as the one that fell into my lap this week, well I dunno what he would’ve done. Probably have some Nutella and Lorna Doone shortbread cookies to celebrate. That was my jam in those days. 20 years. 5 nights. 47 songs. The most stupendously gifted friends. Countless blessings. Too many people to thank. So much gratitude. None of this would work if nobody was listening. So thank you for listening. It means the world to me. See you at the next one.

Tonight’s special guest for my first of five shows at @lctheater will be…(drum roll please)…THIS GUY RIGHT HERE! That’s right folks. For better or worse, this evening is all about me, myself and I. Nothing but straight up unfiltered, untapped, unhinged JGJ. Thankfully, beginning tomorrow night my ultra talented friends will start showing up to save me from myself. Check back in tomorrow to see who is going to be joining me on the ice! 📹 by the one and only @jesskom

I’ll be opening for one of the great singer/songwriters of our time @themikeviola at @mercuryloungeny next Friday 4/28. Doors at 6 PM. Tickets on sale now. Link in bio baby. 📸 by @kathryngallagher
My 5 night residency at @lctheater kicks off tomorrow! Come catch me Weds 5/17 – Sun 5/21. 7:30 PM at the Claire Tow Theater right here in New York City. I’ll be playing a different set and welcoming a different uber talented friend to the stage each evening. I’ll start announcing my special guests tomorrow so watch this space!
My 5 night stand of shows at @lctheater in NYC kicks off in exactly ONE WEEK and the 16 year old dweeb seen here warbling his way through a Jackson Browne cover wants to make sure you get your tickets! Come catch me playing shake-up setlists each night whilst welcoming a slew of special guest all-stars to the stage. 5/17 – 5/21. Link for tickets is in my bio.
One down. Four more to go.
Look out Rhode Island! I’ll be playing with the legend @greeensleeves at @revivetheroots on June 4th and I’m hearing tell that tickets are low for this here event. Hope to see you there!
Meant to include this super cool pic in my last post but can’t edit it so I considered deleting and reposting but didn’t wanna mess with the earnestness of the sentiments I shared so here is this kinda anticlimactic addendum.
My sentiments exactly.
Hear ye, hear ye! I come bearing good news. The special guest for my third of five shows at @lctheater tonight is a twofer! @adrian.blake.enscoe and @sydneytorin are members of the fantastic NYC outfit @banditsontherun and I have the good fortune to know them. They are both epically talented singers/songwriters/instrumentalists/actors/bakers/filmmakers and more. You name it. They can do it. Come see for yourself tonight at the Claire Tow Theater 7:30 PM!
May I have your attention please?! The special guest for my second of five shows this week for @lctheater is none other than @hannahkwink! Hannah is a fantastic singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who performs regularly with Ingrid Michaelson and Lorde just to name a few. She’s mega talented and I am so lucky to have her joining me on stage tonight. 7:30 PM at the Claire Tow Theater! 📸 by @shervinfoto
Three down. Two more to go. Wrote this one in such a hurry I got one of my own song titles wrong.
Night 5.
Four down. One more to go.
Two down. Three more to go.
Last but certainly never ever least! The special guest for my fifth and final show at @lctheater is an immensely gifted singer/songwriter/musician and one of the best dang lyricists working today. She’s also a master pickleballer. Sarah Greenwell fronts not one but two dynamic musical outfits. The bold, badass @gymshortsmusic and the tender, tentative @greeensleeves. She’ll be joining me onstage tonight at the Claire Tow Theater. 7:30 PM. Tickets still available online and at the box office. Let’s bring this thing home y’all!
Alright New York City DIG THIS! The special guest for my fourth of five shows at @lctheater is a man of many talents. @zachjonesmusic is a terrific singer/songwriter who fronts his own rock band Zach Jones and the Tricky Bits. Additionally, he’s a stellar drummer who has played on many a session and show and can be currently seen on tour with Sting. He’ll be gracing the stage at the Claire Tow theater with me tonight! 7:30 PM. Tickets still available. Walk ups too. Don’t be shy. Come hang with us!
