A short birthday reflection.
This morning I woke up being pounced on by my little lion cubs and the sweetest kiss from my soul mate.
I’ve never felt more content in my entire life. Looking at those three souls. Feeling the love from my family. Feeling the love from my creator radiating through my body.
Getting a hand drawn card. Driving my babies to school and singing at the top of our lungs. Having breakfast and staring into the eyes of my beloved, getting lost in her depth knowing her love is my anchor….
I’ve never been able to say this and mean it but today I can. If this was all I had… it would be more than enough.
I am enough.
Thank you all for the texts and emails and messages. I’m turning this device off and enjoying my family and celebrating my mama tonight.
If you know her, send her some BIRTH – day love too. I’m here because of her.

My therapist once told me that being human is like being a globe. The sun never shines on the globe completely. At any given time while the sun shines its light on the globe there is an equal amount of darkness that can’t be seen. I believe more than anything right now that as humans…we must begin to make space for our humanity. It’s time we get rid of the pedestals and remember that we are all flawed. We are all all imperfect. But that’s also what makes us beautiful.

Treat Williams was a great man.
When I was 21 I booked my first series (Everwood) and had to pack my bags and move to Utah in a matter of days. I joined in the fourth season so everyone had already known each other for years. I didn’t know anybody and was so intimidated to be working on such a well-written and acted show. Treat Williams was a legend. He brought me in, showed me so much kindness, and made me feel like I was a part of the family. He would often show up with Vermont Candy from his town’s little store, and fresh maple syrup and pass it out to the cast and crew.
He took me out on his boat, mountain biking, and treated me like a little brother. He was a good good man.
I also just learned John Beasley passed away two weeks ago. John was one of the most humble and kind veteran actors I have ever met. His heart bled for service and charity and worked hard to build a theatre in his hometown that sent the elevator back down. Just like Treat, he made me feel at home in a new place and a new job. He was always smiling. Always joyful. And what an actor he was.
I hadn’t spoken to either of them in years, but man do I wish I would’ve reached out to just catch up and say hello.
Going to re-watch HAIR and RUDY and celebrate their life and legacy.
Life is so damn precious. Hug the ones you love and call the ones you haven’t in a while. Time doesn’t slow down… it just goes by faster and faster.
My dear friend and spiritual brother @rainnwilson wrote one of the most important books of the last decade. What our world needs more than ever right now is a spiritual revolution.
