Today, Gus’s music came home.
From this day forward, his music will be in the care of his mother and brother, and no one else.
It is a solemn moment for us as we reflect on the struggles of the past five plus years. We are grateful to all of the fans, friends, professionals, and family who stood by us. We were all permanently changed by Gus’s death. We know he should be here in the world with all of us, creating–making whatever he was inspired to make. But he is not. So, we will protect his music with all of our strength.
We look forward to continuing to release Gus’s music.
This is a very important day for us.

LIVE FOREVER — DECEMBER 2
To celebrate Crybaby’s 7 year anniversary, we are finally releasing it on vinyl for the first time ever exclusively. You will find it on lilpeep.com. We have also made all-white cassettes and CDs, if you like those.
Gus was very proud of this body of work. He created it at a time of excitement and anticipation in his life.
Oskar and I appreciate the patience of Gus‘s fans as we have all waited to release this music on vinyl.
Live Forever was the culmination of a good year for Gus. It showcases a variety of talented producers he worked with and provides a beautiful example the sound he was working to create—the sound of “Early Peep.” It is a strong and definite sound, a sound that is sure of itself in the way Gus had come to be by the time he made Live Forever. Some of the producers had created beats that Gus asked to use. Other producers were asked by Gus to sample specific songs. Gus had a special desire for “Climbing Up The Walls” by Radiohead and asked two of his go-to producers if they would sample that song in a beat for him. Soon after, Fleance created the instrumental for “Pick Me Up.” On Tuesday of this week, @ThomYorke & @radiohead were gracious enough to approve the use of “Climbing Up The Walls” in “Pick Me Up” and allow us to release Live Forever in its entirety.
Gus carefully arranged the songs in a very specific order for this mixtape, even though four of them were created and added within 24 hours of Live Forever’s release. He knew just what he wanted, and had developed an efficient way to create his music—singing over the beats in the middle of the night so no one could hear him (though I did and pretended not to if he asked).
This is a shining piece of work—made by a boy in his bedroom who had turned 19 on November 1, 2015. Thanks to all of the sampled artists, Gus’s producers, and features that had a role in making this release happen.

Changes was released on May 31, 2016. However, Gus had worked on the songs he appeared on several months before that. The first song Gus collaborated with @meetingbychance on was This Feeling. He finished it the same night he made mirror, mirror from Live Forever. The next five MBC songs were made in December and January, at the same time Gus was working with Jay Grxxn, Ghostemane, Craig Xen, and Nedarb (on such projects as California Girls and Vertigo). It is hard to imagine someone who could compose so many different songs with so many different collaborators in such a short time, but that had become Gus’s approach to making music. We are very grateful to Meeting by Chance for working with us to re-release these beautiful songs on their anniversary—seven years later.
