Watch a big wall free solo; Kjerag Solo is an experimental film with Pete Whittaker. We wanted to produce an immersive and visceral experience when watching this short movie, putting you right in the front seat with the climber as Pete made a solo ascent of an 800m wall in Norway. We developed a special rig with a 360 camera to achieve this. At the time producer and filmmaker Al Lee couldn’t travel meaning the whole project was arranged over WhatsApp calls(!) with Al testing the rig on the side of his house and sending clips to Pete along with pictures of the rig. We were pretty pleased with how it turned out and all credit to Pete for his willingness and effort with this innovative approach. Solid work Pete! Having known John (the founder) personally, I know he’d be totally psyched with where the charity is today and how it’s grown.
