Rob Delaney Instagram – Last night A HEART THAT WORKS won Best Audiobook from the UK’s Radio Academy. It is of course bittersweet to win an award for a book about our son Henry, who died five years ago of brain cancer. I said in my unplanned speech that I’d rather have been tucking him in to bed than accepting the award. But I can’t do that because he died. I am, however, grateful that people are reading and listening to the book. I love that so many people know about Henry. I am so happy that so many other bereaved parents and siblings have read the book and told me they recognized themselves in it.
People seem to really respond to the audiobook which I guess makes sense since it’s such an intimate personal story and it’s read by the guy who wrote it.
