So after a day of crazy flights delayed, plane taken out of service, and racing through the airport to catch a new flight to a different city in Virginia and then renting a car and driving to the destination that we were originally supposed to fly to…my music director Andy and I finally made it to Charlottesville, VA for my concert last night. Andy and I were weary, exhausted, sleep deprived and had no idea what kind of performance we would give after the chaotic day of travel we had just endured. The audience in Charlottesville was so warm, energetic and loving. They completely lifted our spirits and made us feel at home and completely restored by the end of the concert! During my encore I asked the audience for a recommendation for a good place for a bakery to hit this morning before I headed out of town. Someone in the audience yelled out MarieBette’s Bakery and pointed to two lovely gentleman in the front row. Turns out the two lovely gentleman were owners of MarieBette’s and I asked if they had brownies. They were both so sweet and shy and said yes. So I stopped in this morning and when I tell you their bakery was gorgeous and filled with every amazing delicacy under the sun! And they had made me a gorgeous brownie torte with my FACE on it!!! What?!? Amazing. If you’re in Charlottesville you must stop by. Thank you Jason and Patrick. And thank you Charlottesville for restoring my spirit last night. Can’t wait to come visit your beautiful city again soon. 🙏🏾🙌🏾❤️🥮🧁🍰🏳️🌈 @mariebettecafe

So there is this little duck couple that shows up every spring like clock work. They hang out in our frog pond that is filled with duckweed(not algae although it looks like algae) for about 2 weeks and then they fly off and we don’t see them again until the next year. This morning I came outside and thought wow I hear a frog somewhere on the porch. Someone must have hopped up from the pond. I turned and saw that Mr. Duck was on our stone steps which is the closest he has ever come to the house before. I got very excited. I think I scared him 🥴 But after this video I went inside and grabbed some lettuce and brought it down to him and the Mrs. Just to welcome them back. They seemed mildly curious about it so we shall see. I keep telling them to tell their duck friends to come visit our pond as we have soooooooooo much duckweed and they are the only two that ever visit. Maybe there is a AirBnB duck site that I can post on? 🤷🏽♀️🦆
