But now, more than ever people seeking refuge are vilified, othered, denied sanctuary and scapegoated for multiple governments own failures. They are left to the hands of unscrupulous human traffickers and more often than not lose their lives, as seen in the horrific tragedy this week in Greece. We need to make our governments make it easier for people to legally enter countries and claim asylum and change the narrative to respect the humanity of all people.
