In fact, Keith Ferrazi, author of the NYT bestselling book Never Eat Alone did a study for one of his subsequent books and asked Americans, “How many people have your back?” 50% of people said no one has their back. And 60% of those 50% were married. That is of course sad, but he saw it as an opportunity for all of us— 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸?
In honor of Mental health month, @laurelbox and I created a FREE digital download of 15 questions to ask if you are worried about a friend or unsure of how to support someone you love going through a hard time. It will help you connect with your friend in two parts: 1) find out if your friend is ready to talk about their struggle. 2) if they are, ask heartfelt and supportive questions.
It’s designed to be saved as a photo to your phone so you can quickly access it whenever the need arises. 💚

Part 1: Ethiopia 🇪🇹 → Israel 🇮🇱
6 days • 38 hours of flying • 19,000 miles Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Coming Thursday on PRETTYSMART 🎬 Los Angeles, California
Part 2: Ethiopia 🇪🇹 → Israel 🇮🇱
A story of immigration (which is always a story of sacrifice)• “one generation plants trees, and another gets the shade.”
To be a courageous WOMAN, it often means disregarding obligation, expectation, and guidelines. When I witness a woman living courageously, my eyes lock in, and I want to know her story. @aurorajames has courage. She was raised to 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠—specifically the very institutions that have shaped so many of us.
She is the founder of the luxury brand @brothervellies + founder of @15percentpledge, a call to action for retailers and corporations to devote 15% of their shelf space to Black owned brands. Her efforts created a pipeline worth over 10 billion dollars (to date) reallocated to Black owned businesses.
When we talk about someone leaving their mark on the world, those conversations are often ripe for hyperbole. How do you really go about changing an industry or becoming a beacon of reinvention? We say it about people all the time, but what does it take to actually be the change you want to see? It takes courage. It is that same word that kept coming up for me as I read her memoir “Wildflower”. The title represents her ethos of seeing opportunity in places that have been forgotten or left behind. As she shares her own honest stories, it’s as if she’s calling on us to recognize opportunity where we have roadblocks. I read a lot of memoirs, I couldn’t put this book down 🌸. I listen to @chelseadevantez 🎧 podcast #CelebrityBookClub devoutly. I listen when I’m sad and want to laugh. I listen when I’m getting ready for work and want company. I listen when I want to glean something from another woman’s story. I listen every. single. week. And this week I had the opportunity to be a GUEST on it, there to break down Kelly Ripa’s book. This is the first week of her pod I won’t listen to ☺️ So give it a listen and let me know what you think!!
