I ran across this video a while back, and thought it would be a good post in honor of our 26 year wedding anniversary. I love making my husband laugh, but nothing is more fun than making him do so in public.

How lucky are we to have witnessed a true tour de force. I’ve never seen anyone set fire to the stage like Tina Turner. The power that exploded from her performances was mind blowing. You could not take your eyes off of Tina.
What a blessing to have been in the presence of such an incredible woman who exuded grace, kindness, and that wicked sense of humor.
I wanted to share a photo taken when Tina and I performed at the Super Bowl in 2000. We spent two days together. Rehearsing, press, etc….
And yes…. The black Prada pumps are Tina’s. And they have the scratch marks to prove she wore them often.
Thinking about Tina’s family, her beloved husband, and all the close friends that knew her well. We will never forget you, Tina!!!!!!!!!!!

Loretta Lynn was and always will be a national treasure. She not only “pushed the envelope” as the old saying goes…this woman was the envelope filled with stories of life. A real life, as a woman. What it meant to be a woman. To be a wife, to be a mother. Speaking plainly, truth telling, you know…the real shit. So, by the time her undeniably trail blazing testimonies reached the airways, that thing the music industry described as “pushing the envelope,” Loretta had established herself as an original. The original.
Loretta knew that women could break down walls. And she did, for all women baring their souls and their lives.
I have so many personal stories with Loretta. There is one that makes me laugh every time I think about it. We were at a very big award show and I was onstage getting ready to present and I look down at Loretta and she is yelling at me “Hey, honey. I love you so much, honey.” She didn’t care about where we were, because, you see, when Loretta Lynn calls your name, the world stops for a moment.
After the award presentation, I jumped down off the stage and went straight to Loretta and gave her the biggest hug and told her I loved her too.
We love you Loretta.

25 years ago this month, “This Kiss” was #1 on the country charts and stayed there for 3 weeks. This song changed the course of my career and opened the doors to so many incredible opportunities. I’ll be forever grateful to the writers Beth Nielsen Chapman, Annie Roboff & Robin Lerner and to Stephen Goldman for creating a phenomenal video that brought to life a land of wonder as brilliant as the song. Coming into this world almost 8 weeks early with the widest smile on her face and the biggest eyes.

That spunk and spirit put me right at ease. I knew Audrey Caroline McGraw was going to be just fine. She came early for a reason and she was ready to prove it!!!

Audrey is wearing the red dress I wore when Tim and I performed The Rest of Our Life on the CMAs in 2017, so that’s why she didn’t want any cake to get on the dress.
Only 15 days until #CMAfest 50th! It will always be #FanFair to me 😊. I remember when it was held at the Fairgrounds…no air conditioning, people waiting patiently in line to meet their favorite artists and rain…it always rained during Fan Fair! Thank you to the fans for always showing up. ❤️ These are memories I’ll never forget.
