I LOVE what I do and NEVER take it for granted but have been told I spend so much time with my head down, laser focused on the mission, that I rarely take a moment to truly take in my accomplishments…like having 3 shows on rotation at the same time lol. By nature, I’m not braggadocious and am pretty reserved on celebrating me but I am in a new chapter of my life where I understand celebrating all the small and not so small wins is ok because I’ve waded through a sea full of no’s to get to this point in my career and each win along the way helps validate why I do what I do, and prayerfully I’m only getting started.

When it sets in that there won’t be a new episode of #TheBigDoorPrize today because season 1 wrapped last week 🫨 thank goodness @appletv is streaming all 10 episodes, amIright?!?😉😁
You can’t have a last day of filming without a first day of filming, so our team was up before 4am ready to get season 4 off and running. We have lots of fun, but we also work really hard, and it’s the love and respect on our set that helps get us through the long days. This day was super special because we kicked off the season with the sketch comedy goddess #DebraWilson and broke in 2 (@tamarajademusic @thatchickangel ) of our 3 new cast members on the same day. Plus I got an entire 1 hour lunch (super rare in our field lol), got to embarrass our newly Emmy Award Winning Director @murphystokes with an annoying “Bridget” chant, got a great kickoff gift from the bestest boss lady @robinthede, and we made our day on time so our 1st AD @johnnyopics was for sure happy because the next morning we were into a whole new world filming our Mary J Blidge Brunch sketch lol. So many great memories were made throughout the season, and if I get the time soon, I will share some more behind the scenes from the season. Til then, 💕

I found this old photo taken by Tyre Nichols, and it’s both beautiful and heartbreaking.
I have cried and prayed even without seeing the video. I feel guilty that I can chose to not let those images enter my mental and spiritual space, knowing his family can’t chose to not suffer, but I truly have no desire to watch it. I don’t need to see it to be outraged. I don’t need to watch it to know there’s no reason for him to be dead or to have been beaten that way, least of which for a traffic stop. I simply can’t fathom the hate and abuse of power that some cops thrive on, but it is an issue that needs to be dealt with. Crimes are committed daily, but when they are committed by those who are paid by the people to uphold the law, it is beyond worrisome, infuriating, and unacceptable!
I have prayed for that young man’s family. He was loved and seemed to be a ray of light to many….and let’s be clear, even if he wasn’t, he didn’t deserve to die that way. He was a son, a father, a friend, and most importantly, he was a human being, just like the rest of us. At least six families’ lives were directly changed that night, and there’s truly no reason for it.
#JusticeForTyre justice for his family and if more than those 5 cops had a hand in not ensuring that man lived, get to arresting them too! #RIP
