An ugly and angry storm blew over us while filming last night. We watched it come through. Fast! The patient extras. The crew. The cast. We were all told to take cover. Quickly. So, we did. A little bar across the street welcomed some of us to sit and ride the storm out. And because it was @jogarciaswisher’s birthday, it became a quick and impromptu birthday party.
THIS is one of the kindest, sweetest, most encouraging, and not able to keep it together after midnight cast of characters…even in the middle of a storm, sitting at a basement bar, in a make-believe world of Serenity…or any world!

It’s not everyday that the @thenewyorkpops calls and asks if you’ll join with them to do a concert at @carnegiehall for their 40th Anniversary Season.
It’s not everyday that you find yourself saying yes to the ‘CAR’’ before the ‘’NEGIE’ comes out, and then stressing out about what you just committed to.
It’s not everyday (or maybe it is…) that you realize that God has crafted into reality a dream you dreamt years before you ever thought it could be possible.
So when those days come along…
You say, Yes!!
I’m excited!

It was pretty magical…God was showing off in every minute in those mountains 😉!

In high school I did #showchoir (jazz hands to my fellow people…you know who you are🖐🏾).
It was another introduction to music theater, and I Loved it!!!
Anyhow, every time our school #choir, #CHARISMA, went to a show competition, there were two awards a soloist could get: Best Featured Soloist/Vocalist, and Best Soloist in the Solo Category.
Every show we went to, I’d do my best, set my mind to bring home both trophies (yep, overachiever)!
A few years ago, after leaving them there since I left home, my mother pulled all of these trophies out of her house, put them in a box, and gave them to me. They’ve been sitting in our garage, until a couple nights ago, when our daughter saw them peeking out and demanded one…Bringing back a flood of memories. Good ones. Happy, sequined ones 😉!
At the time, the trophy felt so heavy. So big. So within reach, yet, a dream. And now, here it is, broken, cobwebbed. Dusty. Light.
I may need to throw these out. But the dream is still there. Always there. Never broken. Never cobwebbed. Not light, but with hard work and strength, it’s able to be carried.
Reach high. Over achieve! Work hard. Stay ready.
God has plans for many trophies in your life…some, He’ll allow others to give directly to you…and some, only He can…and will.

I went there for love of man (i was hanging with my husband), and came out admiring #golf and loving #Augusta! It’s always amazing to watch people do what they do best, even when they’re in a practice round.
Congrats to @jonrahm, and thanks to angels who made trees part perfectly on a stormy #goodfriday.

It’s a daunting piece of machinery. Isn’t it?! Oh how I dread even walking into the office to meet it…much more the room where it stands, waiting. It scares me, actually. Because I know ladies who are battling breast c#*^!’ (I don’t say the word!). I know ladies who are dealing with the disfiguring aftermath of it. Ladies who are waiting for reconstruction. Ladies who have fought it, won, and survived to tell us about it. And a sweet girlfriend who bravely fought it here, but now fights with us from heaven.
Brave women. Strong women. Resilient women.
And every time, I’m told all is well and i can leave, i start crying in the room (the sweet nurse was ready for me this time…), tears of joy and relief, but also tears of pain for those who don’t get such a message…even today…even in that same room!
So, in honor of them all…and in a pledge to my body…I go and meet the machine, and let the machine do its work, so that I can move ahead!
Ladies…please get checked.

Every year, at some point before we wrap the show and leave #Georgia, my family takes on the challenge of hiking up #StoneMountain. I always wonder why a few steps in, but then, at the top, I look around and take in the beauty, and at that point I know we’ll always do it. Georgia has been so good to us. We’ve enjoyed it there. Felt welcomed there. Ate deliciously well there. We were cared for by sweet people there. And Felt at #home for the time we were there.
And we’re grateful.
So, #thankyou, #atlanta!

The people of #Georgia LOVE their #Bulldogs. And there may not be a group who love them more than our #transportation team for @sweetmagnoliasnetflix. Well, as a girl who has married into #Alabama royalty (#RollTide), I have talked trash to them all season. For my last day in the great state of Georgia, these stinkers showed up dressed (from head to red pinky toe) and ready to show me who’s territory I was in. Good thing I thought ahead, and brought them a proper change of clothing! 😄! Best prank ever!
In all seriousness, these gentlemen and their team are so vital to what we do. They arrive before us, set up, clean, ready our trailers and transportation vehicles, and then clean up, break down, and move our trailers after we leave. If something needs fixing, even, at times our personal things, they do it. They protect us and support us…and are some of the sweetest teddy bears you can ask for…even if they are #Dawgs 😉!

Actually, i may be enjoying it too much! I told him that the next scene should be our director in a choir. What I don’t remember telling him is that I should join him…! As much as I would enjoy singing behind #TheBishop, I think I’m now in trouble, and may need salvation 😄!
