White Bird – finding my way… Starting points on a film are always the script and the director’s vision. Then comes the fun part – the research! In the case of White Bird there is much photographic material out there.. I build the looks from photos, existing costumes in costume houses, shops for fabrics and in this case wool and shoe leather … So here is a little selection from my many hundreds of photos – never say I get carried away! Includes schools, weddings, partisans, village people – plus stands various, knit samples, dye samples and a fabulous antique emporium in Melnik which opened up for us! @WhiteBirdMovie @Lionsgate You never forget kindness. WHITE BIRD – In theaters this August. #ChooseKind

It’s been a while as I have been catching up with life! And the garden of course .. more to follow BUT the exciting news this week is that “White Bird” the Marc Forster film we made In the Czech Republic during the pandemic two years ago is going to be released at the end of August. I was initially disappointed it didn’t arrive in our cinemas last year but In fact it almost seems more timely this year as its central themes are war, displacement and kindness. There are wonderful stories coming out of kind and brave actions amongst the modern horrors of this world amidst the many wars being waged and White Bird seems representative of many of these stories. So here is a taste of the amazing time Lauren and I had in Prague making this film. We had a wonderful crew and really good workshops at Barrandov Studios and just living In Prague is always very special! A few photos to set up the Barrandov scene and the endless snow .. what is it about me? Always snowing or raining wherever I go – perhaps I should be sent to visit drought zones … Photos: 1. MY rail!! We are real! Costume line-up at Barrandov Fundus 2. Lovely new desk with flowers and fairy lights, and the view from my desk in the studio …snow … 3. Empty costume space – ready for action 4. Welcome committee! Petia and Adela 5. Fundus shoes 6. Workroom up and running! My ‘happy place’ on any film with Pavel – Master Tailor and Ollie – Master Sewer. 7. New truck! With Sarka – our phenomenal truck supervisor .. 8. Irresistible – the Czechs have a way with number plates! With Vilda our wonderful driver and friend! 9. Evening activities – locked down so activated the craft workshop! The “White Bird” trailer is in the linktree in my bio, and in today’s story.

Time to put Mrs Harris to bed, hang up her pinny and duster and just remember all the fun she gave us most recently at the Oscar outing! So here is a final Oscar photo dump to celebrate. Onwards and upwards! Just finishing my Oscar outing in New York and Claverack where I feel ridiculously at home … @mrsharrismovie @theacademy

A wonderful weekend in Belfast and around the coast with Caitlin, Jazzy, Zac and Billie, to celebrate our David. Spectacular scenery and extraordinary bits of architecture and sculpture especially if you look up! Just a little Guinness was imbibed along with some seriously good food – all brilliantly organised by Caitlin tours!
