I’m still processing the magic of being in an entire theater of humans—from those I love to complete strangers—all laughing and crying together because we are connected by stories. Film, media, art.. that is what reminds us of our humanity and @jimbyrdcat did that with @shatterbelt in a way the world has never experienced before. He is not only brilliant, but one of the nicest and most down to earth human beings I’ve ever met. And the cast and crew came together, trusted in his courageous vision and gave it our all. The result was a true labor of love and teamwork by a group of misfits who have a burning desire to create. And boy, did we. Congrats to the entire Shatter Belt team. January came and went! So many beautiful memories from 2023 already. And looking forward to more quality time, creative collaborations, good food, and snuggles. Clearly, my life is mostly just videos of @derpydoggoluna 🤣
Who says you have to grow up 🙂 thank you to all my dear friends—those I got to see and those I’m feeling the love of from far away—for being one of the biggest sources of my joy. And of course what a gift that my grandma came back home from the hospital on my birthday and Chef @mark_poletti cooked us a feast. Thanks for all the love. Realizing more and more every year that success = happiness, and happiness = quality time with loved ones, personal growth, food, travel, and adventures. So damn.. I’m really successful 😉

This post is dedicated to the people behind the glamorous Getty Images: @jimbyrdcat: my longest working relationship… we go way back to the 20th century 🤣🤣🤣 Jim has been a beacon of light reminding all of us indie filmmakers to just keep going. Or in the words of the Duplass Brothers, “The cavalry is not coming.” Don’t wait for Hollywood, don’t wait for permission.. just create. And create from that intimate, vulnerable, uniquely weird space inside ourselves that has been untainted by external opinions, social convention, or what’s “right.” There’s no fucking “right” in art. Just what’s true to you. Thank you Jim ❤️ The two badass women behind Jim: @laura.x.evans and #AlyssaByrkit who believe in art so deeply and who are willing to strap on a camera half the size of them because we need to get the shot. These are the women who 👏🏽 make 👏🏽 shit 👏🏽 happen and are my heroes And my BF @mark_poletti and BFF @ms.morgie who, within 30 seconds of me telling them we got into @sxsw was like “I’ll be there.” And who showed up, held my hand, held my bags, and cheered me on from day 1 🥺 And @bowmantheofficial who knew I didn’t have any time to think about wtf Im supposed to wear. So, without me asking, he went out and bought me the dress and shoes I wore for press because he is that kind of ride or die. You guys, get yourself these kind of people in your life.. that’s true success. That’s happiness. All the other stuff is just icing on the cake.
