Kristin Davis Instagram – My last trip to Kenya , we flew to a remote spot in the middle of a dangerous area for wildlife to visit Mark Jenkins. He was gracious as always , in this harsh place where he was leading a small group of young hero’s who were putting their lives on the line to protect the endangered animals in the area. Mark was a man equally brilliant and physically strong. Seemingly impenetrable to harm, based on the many dangerous countries and areas he had already made safe for their wild inhabitants. Yet this week the unthinkable happened. Mark and his son Peter went down in their plane whilst trying to protect villagers from elephants and visa versa.
My heart goes out to the entire @sheldricktrust . Mark was a force who did so much good, also Angela Sheldrick’s cousin. A true warrior for good. And his son Peter was just beginning his life in conservation.
To their family – I send all my love. And to all the good
people out there trying to protect our wild natural world, I thank you from the deepest part of myself for your sacrifice.
