Lindy Booth Instagram – Every Monday we are celebrating actors we love!
Today we spotlight the vibrant Lindy Booth. To Kendra, Lindy will forever be the bubbly and eccentric “Pizza Girl” who stole Physical Phil’s heart on the ABC series OCTOBER ROAD. But she has entertained us with many other characters since then and has no plans to slow down. She also has tremendous spunk and an infectious enthusiasm that makes you want to keep her around.
Now Lindy shares some tips with you:
1. know yourself. embrace your quirks. learn to love your perceived faults… because they’re only faults in your mind. everything about you, the totality of you, is what you bring to a project and you are completely and utterly unique. your one of a kind perspective is what producers and directors will be drawn to. and the more you can understand about yourself, the deeper you will be able to dive into your character’s lives.
2. there are enough jobs out there for everyone. be generous and be grateful. cheer for your fellow actor’s successes. it’s hard sometimes. but we’re all in this together. the right job for you is out there… and it might not be what you think it is. not getting a job isn’t a failure. every audition is a learning experience. a chance to make a fan in the room (or on a tape!) a chance to explore a character you might never get a chance to play. a chance to hone your craft and your taste. a chance to play!
3. never stop learning. take a class when you’ve got down time. try something that scares you! fail! fail wildly! it will rekindle your joy in curiosity and wake up your brain. learn something that has “nothing to do with acting.” you never know when it might come in handy! every opportunity for growth will inspire more creativity. and being with your community is important, the connections, being in a room that understands you, learning from doing and watching others do is vital.
