Remember nearly 4 years ago I posted about Zephi? I told you about a then 16 year old girl who was being charged as an adult because her sex trafficker killed a man who was attempting to buy her for sex and assaulted her. When you followed this case, you learned that the district attorneys office wanted to try Zephi, who was a child as an adult.
Well, here we are years later and this case is set for trial on February 27th. All of the support we got when this story first broke is needed again now. The state of Texas doesn’t have an “affirmative defense” for sex trafficking victims. Meaning, a victim of sex trafficking can’t present evidence at trial of duress created through trauma bonding- even though this evidence clearly exists. What is needed is public support of Zephi to show that the laws in Texas are harmful towards women, sex trafficking victims and young girls who find themselves in the throes of this type of evil; and to also show that a then girl who was horribly abused and sold for sex shouldn’t go to prison because of it.

Friends, Henry and Crystal Trevino contacted me about their young daughter a couple of months ago. What they told me was heartwrenching. Child sex trafficking is an issue that exists right under our noses. There are countless stories about children who are forced into sex trafficking and are then held culpable for their trafficker’s crimes. Due to juvenile privacy laws, I’m not allowed to say much about this case outside of what the Trevino’s have shared, but I along with @itsjasonflom vow to fight for this family as the criminal justice system endeavors to tear them apart.

It’s that time now guys. Bc I like to take Gracie with me places, and bc she can’t always get outside in time now, I decided to be nappy mum (diaper, for all my American friends). It went well😂 She didn’t mind it being on at all. Fyi if you’re considering doing this, you need to make sure to keep them clean and dry and change the nappy regularly so they don’t get a rash! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!💃

This is beautiful Rocky. He needs a wonderful home and has been with a foster for 10 months. But large dogs are much more difficult to adopt out. He’s so lovely, well trained, great with other dogs and loves adventures! He’s 2.5 yrs old and 86lbs of brilliant! Please go to @rachelweilpr for more info. AND PLEASE SHARE! Thank you!!🤍🩷🤍
