From when we first started working on the album, this song “Dear Sahana” has held a very special, warm place in my heart. There’s an especially deep joy when we perform it live. I can’t wait for y’all to hear the record version of this song when “Sidharth” releases later this summer. Until then, head over to @nprmusic YouTube channel to listen to the version we performed for Tiny Desk!
Special shout out to anyone named Sahana out in the world

What is the why?
There are stretches of time when sleep is more of a task than effortless; the mind races. Ricocheting in the brain are different versions of the question: why do you do what you do?
what is the core driving force?
Somewhere in a space far deeper than any memory, there are resonances that ring out into the universe. Love
Connection.
The meaning of “Dear Sahana” continues to reveal itself to me with time. The source point is a story immersed in love, pain, chaos, growth and warmth. And like anything honest, as time progresses, the source point grows towards the sun, just as a seed grows into a tree.
We made a song that feels like the deepest, most profound joys I have felt. This visual clip (directed by @bytanima, shot by @xavi.nyc) of my mom and I feels like the same joy that moves through the whole song.
On the nights when the mind races, I almost always land on the calming understanding of grace, and something in that space deep beyond any memory calls out to me in a proclamation of happiness and gratitude.
deepest gratitude, I’m honoured to share “Dear Sahana” with you all (link in bio)
All love, no hate
Life is strange
I wrote a song called “Dear Sahana”
I made it with some of my favourite people in the world//
Once, I was in the backseat of my parents car. Dad driving, mom in the passenger seat, sister next to me. It was sunny out, there was some great music playing on the speakers. We were driving on highway 680, hills rolling to our left. I must’ve been 10, and the quiet joy I felt in my soul felt just like magic.
That joy is what “Dear Sahana” feels like to me. Warm, uninhibited and deep.
The song will be yours on June 2nd. Can’t wait to share this piece of me with you
All love

I’m back in Bay for a few days. This piano is special, it’s seen me at different stages of my life. It’s helped me through some strange times, playing it definitely helped keep me sane especially during the pandemic. I was kinda aimlessly tinkering w it today, drifted into fragments of Dear Sahana. My brain drifted back to my first trip to Minneapolis when I first met and started creating with @arsononly. My second day there in the afternoon, him, @cbierden, @blobtower, @ajabaum, @dealdrugger and I were at Ryan’s spot. When we landed on the jam that would become Dear Sahana there was a current of warmth that moved thru the room. Everything from Ryan’s conducting of chaos, to the way Chris, Justin and Baum came up with the B section effortlessly gave one a sense of floating on a wave of joy. I remember chancing upon a couple phrases during that jam that felt like quick Carnatic inflections melting into Soul riffs; something sparked internally. I remember Justin flowing right into this absolutely gorgeous guitar solo (it’s the one that’s on the record!!) and I had the biggest grin on my face as Ryan let out one of his “come ooon”’s.Everything felt so magical, that magic lives in every aspect and stage of making this song. I played this piano today, reflected and felt grateful. I am grateful

All love, no hate was born out of the idea that love is the deepest, greatest connector, that it flows infinitely through everything. What a journey it’s been thus far, can’t really put into words the excitement I have for what the (near) future holds.
